-1, let’s try and keep Army open for people regardless of skill level. A person with a good attitude and shit shooting has 100x more value than the most skilled players with shit attitude.

It’s about fun anyway, skills te rather irrelevant for that.

Good point sir.

First of all explain why would it be useful as it says in template, "it's cool" is not an explanation. Secondly, take a look at accepted applications and ask yourself whose skills were unknown/bad and needed to be tested.

Let's go over test categories
SOC - We don't have taze anymore, we have 2 cuffs with tiny range and we almost never use them. It would be waste of time to test SOC skills.
Flying - Dodo has completely different handing than Hydra & Rustler and those two are most of times used just to get yourself to a car. Maverick test was just as others, pointless. Its test route was under bridges which we actually never fly under in real situations and Hunter is way bigger so it's impossible to do. Anyway, Hunter is used only for heliblading and we never tested skills for that.
Shooting - Mockery explained this pretty good already. Plus, this category takes huge amount of time and is ruined a lot of times.
Driving - Driving category is complicated. Driving itself is not hard but creating a route that will have meaning and prove someone's skills in action. Adding tens of stunts in route is pointless because almost no one is using them in real chase. When you chase someone you either, get close enough, jump out of car and pop their tires, or get your car blown up within seconds by 2-3 players on criminal's car roof.

I think adding test back as it was before would be big waste of time. Just as I stated above, to actually test someone's skills you need to see applicant skills all combined, in action on street taking down multiple criminals and see their tactics. Tactics is what matters. If we're to rework whole testing procedure then tests might give soliders useful informations about applicant's skills.
Now on the other hand, with current testing procedure, if applicant wants to show their skills, they need to be active for soliders to notice it. This encourages applicants to team with soliders and be active as LEO. It's all connected.

We currently have one regularly active training officer (shout-out to Mateej), and finding correct, trustworthy, responsible and active players for TO position is hard. So let's not make our dear TOs job any harder as they're already giving much time and patience into this.

Of course let's not forget how many cafe players are on server nowadays and how well trusted they're with doing fair tests.

TLDR: It's fine the way it is now.

As mentioned in previous responses, effective communication skills and a strong understanding of the rules are essential qualities we look for in an applicant. Actual performance is assessed in real-time situations, rather than just in isolated 1v1 scenarios. The ability to strategize and approach challenges strategically holds greater importance than relying solely on repetitive route tests and 1v1 skill demonstrations.

Suggestion dismissed.
