Importance of suggestion: 8/10
Why should it be accepted: So, this suggestion has two sections, houses, and perks. I'll break it into two sections to make it easier
HOUSES: LIMIT
There's thousands of houses right now, and plenty going up for sale soon, and they're expensive as hell. But some people also have, let's face it, way too many damn houses. We're talking dozens of houses! Before, it was a good way to show off. But if this is approved, it'll be just too OP. So, as far as houses, I'd suggest a limit of three to five...
->Three basic (only one per island! You can't have 3 in los santos)
->One Luxury House (which would NOT have the features below)
->One "workshop" house (Explained below)
WORKSHOPS
The three basic houses you can own would be storage. See, on death, and you lose any materials you have, just like you do with cash. But if your workshop is in Las Venturas, and you're in Los Santos and highly wanted, you'd want to stash your materials fast, so having a basic house where you can hide them is like an ATM for materials.
Luxury houses wouldn't be touched.
Workshop House: Nothing says your workshop house can't be a basic house, but it'll be better to put your workshop in a location you're near alot, and have the storage houses more spread out. Again, storage houses are more useless the further from your workshop they are.
Workshop:
When you make a basic house a workshop, you'll get a confirmation message confirming it because once you make a house a workshop, you CANNOT undo it! You can't just move it around at will. Maybe have a way to do it after a certain time (30 days?) or if you sell the house. I only add that because it's possible to buy a better house at a better location and want to move it there.
Once you have your workshop, you'd have a few options:
->Storage: See what materials you have in your workshop. (Note: materials are NOT shared between houses. You can stash in a basic house, but you'll have to eventually transport it to your workshop)
->Create: Allow you to create items
->Sell: Sell items you've made at various prices
->Equip: Allows you to equip items you've made
Once you have Materials, and enough of them, you can build items, guns, armor, and even cars (good luck though!) There would be a few different materials, and I'll list them here, as well as where to find them:
->Leather: Found commonly when robbing clothing shops
->Gun parts: Found uncommonly when robbing gun shops
->Wood: Found uncommonly when robbing any shop
->Metal: uncommon in all shops
->Alcohol: Found commonly when robbing bars
->Car parts: uncommonly found when robbing 24/7s, sometimes found rarely behind pay & sprays and mod shops, common from driving school
->Electronics: found commonly from Zero's RC, rarely from 24/7
->Rubber: Common at sex shops... you can guess why
->Bullet casings: commonly found from gun shop robberies
->gunpowder: commonly found from gun shop robberies
Now, I'm going to hide how much you need of what for items and such in a long list below in a spoiler so you can read it if you want, or just ignore it because length.
Cars: (able to be spawned by the workshop house icon, but can left at a house if you park nearby and use the "store car" option at the house icon)
-> all cars: 1 engine, 1 transmission, 4 tires, 1000 car parts, all rarely found when robbing 24/7s, sometimes found rarely behind pay & sprays and mod shops, common from driving school, plus the following:
->crappy cars: (such as clover, alpha, club) 250 metal, 250 rubber, 250 leather, 250 wood
->good cars: (such as buffalo, zr-350, wilson) 300 metal, 300 rubber, 300 leather, 300 wood
->sports cars: 500 metal, 500 rubber, 500 leather, 200 wood
->trucks: (such as yosemite, bobcat, flatbed) 500 metal, 200 rubber, 200 leather, 500 wood
Reason:
Now that groups no longer have free guns, cars, and so on, people are grinding for everything, and most of this is done by robbing. I REALLY love the idea of Ls-rcr going for a CNR server, but V10 has some nice RPG elements too, and I think we can really play to that by giving players farms and grinding. The more time you spend, the more you work, the more you get. If you play long enough, and work hard enough, you could get a good amount of items to use without spending any money. And if you're selling stuff, that's a bonus to your work. And it comes with risks. If you die carrying materials, you lose them. If you use /tam you toss gun parts and bullet materials on the ground, because if a cop searches you, it's a wanted level for ten materials on you (meaning you can go from white to most wanted instantly) and an arrest also takes all of them, they're highly illegal. Houses have always been useless, and many users have way too many given how little they do. Plus, having a GUI for all this, while difficult to make (sorry devs) would make it fun. You can even make it a whole business if you work hard enough. All the materials can also be traded/sold between users via a menu using /trademats (id). So even if you don't use this system, those who do might buy your materials. It also makes it a huge money sink since you have to buy a house, trade parts, and so on. Also, i think to help limit guns, they should come with a 25-35% chance to break during manufacture, so you'd have no gun, and lost 10% of the materials you used to make it. I know it would be a bitch to impliment, but if devs make a V11, this would be a nice thing to have in it.
