Please give the topic a good read. It does not function like the way you have suggested. The price the system will charge you will vary depending on the changes you make to your username. If they are minor, you will pay the lesser amounts. This is effectively a price reduction as it is a shift from the flat rate of 12 DPs the system used to charge for changes of any sort to usernames (be it big or small).
Why not just reduce the price to 3 and make the Cooldown to use the function again 3 months making it more available to more players and also preventing constant usage of the function. Would make it more available to more players who would otherwise not be able to save 12 DPS for name change and also prevent it from being constantly used. It just seems redundant to make someone pay 3-9 more DPS just for a few keyboard key strokes.

You can now expect to pay either 3, 6,9 or 12 DPs for changes to your username. As a side note however, the 7 day cooldown for name changes still remains the same.
