I began to play SA-MP almost ten years ago, around 2006/2007. I couldn’t believe I was able to play Grand Theft Auto: SA online, with other people. That day I joined my first random server and just lost track of time. I played for 10 hours straight and found it so subversives I just forgot about the world around me. The very next day I set it up for my brother and we just started playing together. We just used to kill everyone because that’s what you do on GTA…right? The game mode on the server was pretty basic, you could own property (checkpoints), which you would use to generate money, so that you could kill more people! There wasn’t a limit on how much property you could own so me and my brother just started killing everyone so that we could own it all. We played there for a few weeks and made a couple of friends, together we just kept killing everyone in the server. Eventually more and more players wanted to join or ‘gang’. We even got to a stage where the admins couldn’t kill us anymore and joined us instead. This caused issues amongst the admin team because they started to exploit their comments and would spawn vehicles and weapons to have an unfair advantage. That was the final straw for us, there was no fun or honor in admins just spawning whatever they liked, to kill regular players.

The next day one of the friends we made asked me if I wanted to start a new server with him and my brother, of course after being abused by the admins I couldn’t say no. After a few days we managed to get a server running on my brother’s pc, with a basic game mode. We invited all our friends from the other server (YES OMG WE ADVERTISED, DEAL WITH IT) and soon we had a decent amount of players every single day – with just a basic mode! Slowly over time more interesting scripts were released and our friends wanted to try a few of them. That was when I was introduced to that phrase I have come to love so much, Cops and Robbers. First our world started in Las Venturas before moving over to Los Santos and then expanding into a whole world map. Now here we are many years later; 3 different website, 4 side projects in other game modes and games, almost 100 different staff members and nearly a million registered accounts, although half of those belong to Andrey_Boss.

You might be curious why I am sharing my history with you all. Recent events in my life and the community have got me thinking that it I may have to sell Ls-rcr. I really cannot imagine selling the community, however it might be time for a new owner that can dedicate the time and resources to keeping the community alive for a few more years. The events within my life over the last couple of months have made me consider that it all could be over, all of our work would be for nothing. I have given 10 years of my life for this community however, to move on with my life I must consider selling the community to progress with my plans. From this moment on I am open to offers and have already received a few which I have to consider. If you feel as though you have what it takes to run ls-rcr and can keep it alive please do make me an offer. But also be realistic with the offer because the money is not for me to make a profit, it is to fund the next chapter of my life. Before any offer is taken there will be a serious discussion of terms. The community will not be left to someone that is going to abuse it and ruin all we have worked for.

Glens note: Me and Energ discussed the issues he has late into the night. Despite the pain this may causes us all, Energ has given up more than anyone for this community. He financed, created content, policed our behavior for years. This money will help support him in starting the next chapter in his life and I fully support him in anything he does. There will be time to discuss terms and conditions. I for one am going to request for privacy reasons if the community is sold we give players, including ourselves the options to have our accounts removed.

I have been here for 8 years, I coincidentally joined the day the script changed from Lvrcr to Lsrcr. It has been a fantastic time for me. I have had highs and lows. I learnt how to be responsible (after fucking it up the first time as a watcher #retiredwatcher). I made some lifelong friends, every weekend me and Energ play tennis at our local sports club. But unlike Energ I was able to take a break from the community and move on with my life. I am now halfway through my degree. I feel it is time we allow Energ the same break he gave all of us. He is the one that was always been there, day and night. We have also discussed that no matter what happens we will keep a community via teamspeak and the Half-a-Nerd side project.

Johnson's note: I joined Lsrcr over 7 years ago, first as player, then as an admin finally as the lead developer and a senior admin. The journey has been long and rewarding in several ways. I've made many long-lasting friends, had a lot of positive experiences, and also learned and grown a lot. I really appreciate everything I've learned, from taking responsibility to coding experience, which I've spent probably thousands of hours doing. Many of you have probably noticed that I haven't been active lately. I have moved on with my life, as I started my studies at university and also got a regular job a couple of years ago. But that doesn't change the fact how much Lsrcr means to me, and I've still been around in the background all the time, but taking a less active role in the community.

When Energ told me that he was planning to sell Lsrcr, I was a bit shocked first, but soon understood his decision. I've been around for years, but he's been there even longer, always taking care of Lsrcr and making it better. It's difficult to even express how important his role has been and how long and well he has been doing it. But I'm sure we can all appreciate that! We've faced quite a few setbacks together, and even came up with the concept of "Lsrcr Curse" as we kept facing issues one after another, but we always managed to get through it, always sorted the issues, and always learned something valuable from it. That's not to say it hasn't been extremely rewarding, but it has taken a lot of energy during all the years. As it was time for me to move on, I think it's only fair to let Energ do that as well. He really deserves it. I also thing that letting someone else to take care of Lsrcr is the best for the community. This way Lsrcr can stay alive, and we can all still enjoy and do everything we love about Lsrcr.

A lot of communities die under new management from what I've experienced. So choose wisely if you do end up selling.

I understand and fully support this decision. It's obvious that the current leading admins have become too old and uninterested in SAMP. A new owner would certainly spice things up.

Lets hope the next owner, if there will be one, will make ls-rcr work again.

Energ, the coding was like 20% on making this server amazing. The other part was on you. If you are going to sell it, sell it for good and find someone like your self.

We do understand the pain you took in behind over these years mate, wish you all the success in your life. We have an awesome community here, hope the server will be given to right hands, who can keep this community alive.
