I'm really glad to see everyone taking an active part in the conversation.

@Fady: Lmao really dude? You say this and you're the one taking part in car surfing and spam arresting newbies. There's a limit to being a hypocrite also lol.

@Rally3: You're right, it's mainly the CAR SURFING that's the problem. It gives easy access for people riding on the car to easily shoot and disable the criminal's car, which isn't fair at all. If we can put some measures against that, it would be great!

@Snipaxxy: 1. No, SAMP isn't dead. 15-20,000 players playing at any given time, that's not less. Currently SAMP has way more players and servers online than FiveM. I've returned to SAMP after 5 years after playing games like GTA online, BFV, Five M, Forza Horizon etc, and find that SAMP is still hella active. Besides, there are other CNR servers that easily have quite a few players, one even has 4 servers that has an average of 200 players each at any given time, so stop giving the shitty excuse SAMP is dead, it's more alive than ever.

2. Regarding Blackmarket: Don't you need like 1500 score to access Blackmarket? I'm talking about newbies here being abused by Veteran players, which you were actively doing with other veteran players. Blackmarket in itself might be an issue, but it still doesn't justify your behavior of abusing a class and newbies just to fulfill your own interest, and is definitely not something that commands respect for you as a veteran player. Read the post properly.

Back in 2016ish SA:MP used to have 80K online at a time.

He has a point - SAMP is not dead by any means. That it is declining from what it once was, sure.

With that said, having talked to and seen many devs/managers of other CnR servers, they face similar issues that are faced here. Hell, one of the more popular servers of all time on this gamemode was forced to remove the ability for cops to arrest since people were more interested in tdm-esque gameplay rather than cops and robbers. It's not the end of the world by any means, but it makes some sort of sense. CnR is a gamemode that appeals to a medium-term reward loop. To put this in context, Freeroam/DM would be immediate/short-term, and Roleplay would be long-term. For an aging game, much of the playerbase that enjoys this style of game will want to look for newer graphics, and just overall a change in scene (considering that SAMP has existed for 10+ years). More importantly though, players that want the medium/long term reward loops do not want to be anywhere near the short term ones, as they inevitably are incompatible. You've seen it here in Lsrcr too with the mass migration to Fivem. There are still people that like SAMP over anything, and have no problem having a medium/long-term reward loop on it, but many of the ones that do have moved on to newer games. After all, if you're going to grind at a game 20 hours to buy a bicycle walking all around the map, it should at least look semi-decent.

Personally, SAMP will always be a game that I like to play, partly due to my childhood, and partly due to it being the first programming experience I ever had. The map is superior to GTA V in my eyes, and due to it being in a more advanced stage, the development process can be a bit easier (already know what tools are out there, how to get stuff done generally, etc).

That does not mean that Lsrcr should not try to adapt, but if I'm honest I think that the players that play actively now enjoy it how it is. Things have turned into a more of a short-term feedback loop, and while we can argue about why it happened/etc (which is still an interesting discussion imo), the result is still there to the public eye. People that don't enjoy the experience are welcome to voice it like you did, and I did, and many others have done/will do, but at the end of the day there is usually 20+ players online that like things as they are.

@Rally3: Damn, that's an amazing perspective you just gave there. The statement you made about the short, medium and long term reward loops is very interesting and intriguing, and I agree with everything you said a 100%.

-Yes, SAMP will by far be the GOAT for me, and yes, the GTA V map comes nowhere close. While I enjoyed GTA online, it gets really grindy after a point and there's not enough balance. Not really tried FiveM much.

-My friend too had his first coding experience in SAMP, and that's what got him interested in coding.

-90% of the servers online on SAMP rn are RP servers, and I can see that a long term reward loop appeals more to the SAMP player base, hence the crowded RP servers. But that's still not to say that there's still a share of the medium-term CnR/light roleplay player base out there that's still up for grabs. What I love about this server is it falls exactly between freeroam/dm and RP. I'm still of the opinion that we can increase our player base if we tried enough, there's still quite a lot to grind for in LSRCR, and it's meaningful.

Hopefully, we can see something more positive in the long term rather than just accept the 20+ odd player base we have.

Remove SMOTM and double promotions and this should fix it.

Hey guys,

So I'm back on the server after 5 years, and I'm really glad to see SAMP as a whole really active, and the LSCNR (now LSRCR) server still up and running! I jumped into it with my friend who I would play with back in the day, and sure enough, the server is still hella fun!

However, our joy was short-lived, and this might also be the very reason the server fails to hold a decent amount of players. Keep in mind that I give this suggestion because I really want to see the server have more players.

So while we were playing, there were basically 4-5 swats (along with the cops already on the server), as far as I can remember it was Fade, Karthik, Snipaxx and someone else, who would roam around on one car, spam arresting everyone.

Now please don't get me wrong, I am not calling out anyone, I'm here just to give my perspective as a contextual "newbie" if you will, as to what turned me off, and what might be the reason newbies don't come back to the server.

5 swats, riding on a car, and when they come to you, you have literally NO defense (at least as a new player). They will spam shoot your car and its tires, car catches fire, you either blow up or you get out and get arrested. Now at first I did not think much of it, we went to another city and started robbing there. But these dudes fly all the way there and keep arresting us again.

Now again I did not think much of it, but pretty soon it became apparent that it was almost impossible becoming a robber without getting arrested every 2 mins. Every time we spawn as robbers we would get arrested within no time, and to top it all, there's barely any players on the servers, me and my friend are the only criminals, and these dudes are STILL after us, instead of atleast trying to balance the server out and become criminals maybe? It's the least you could do as veteran players.

MY SUGGESTION:
1. As veteran players, please make it easier for newbies, at least in these times when the server is struggling to hold even 20 players. Instead of being so spammy, use your common sense and judgment and be more friendly to newbies and help onboard them on the server. Sure, it's not against the rules, but it's also common sense that as veteran players, you don't scare new players away by teaming up and spam arresting everyone on a joker car. I love this server, and I really want to see more players on it. Maybe become a criminal if you see there's so many cops/swats, that's just basic common sense.

2. Create some sort of a team balancing system, where the server cant have more than x number of swats or cops depending on number of players. Like maybe a % of total no. of players. In that way, the server would be way more balanced, rather than old players just teaming up and jumping up on a joker car riding around spam arresting everyone.

Peace and warm regards. Hope to see ya'll in-game soon.
It's a wrong choice getting back in the server, there's a lot of newbies who fukin ruin your game all day, so I suggest you to play STEAM games instead of this server

Even though samp is not dead, your gameplay will be ruined by 10 year old kids who have no idea what in their right mind are doing.

Take your opinion about this server (which I have been part of for 12 years now) , write it down on a 4x4 piece of paper , roll it ..put it inside a wine bottle and shove it up your ass. Cause frankly, no one takes your ass seriously. You are permanently banned from LSRCR for advertising OTHER servers , what are you still doing on our forums? :ugeek:

Back on topic:
I see where @pizzadaddy4 is coming from with the suggestions. And i back you up on the 1st one completely , especially the veteran TAGGED members should think of this ... the grind for score and stats is kind of not important once you become tagged .. if you see a newbie struggling it won't cost you anything to "show them the ropes" around the server. Or just team up with them (cop or robber) , think back when you started and made new friendships, how cool was it to hang out with us and be taught how to play? Not only does it make the gameplay more enjoyable for you and the newbie , and make them feel welcomed , but it gives you the chance to talk to new people from different parts of the world as well!

As for the 2nd suggestion ... that would limit the player's choice so I'm not totally for it.
The Army already has a 15 player limit , not sure about SWAT..we don't really need to restrict gameplay anymore than it already is. But i see where you're coming from on that one!
Part of the fun on cops and robbers gamemode is successfully escaping the cops or special forces. And if you do happen to get arrested , you can always escape jail (either /escape or have two players break you out of Alcatraz ..they designed a whole new cool ass system for it  ) , so it's not too much of a hassle in my opinion.

Kind regards, Gangsta19
