If a animal was causing harm to my family then I would stop it as quickly and effectively as possible.

In this instance, since his foot was out of action, had no weapons around and his car was out of gas, he had no other choice than to use the handy rope and stones he saw randomly in the middle of nowhere, to bind it to a stone, and throw it in the river.

Gorm, killing an animal is bad enough, but causing unnnessasary suffering to the animal, and then it dies, well thats just plain SICK.
