You don't know all reasons why is it hidden. Copying is one of the reasons.

I read most of the accepted applications when they were not hidden - feeling lucky

We don't want people to see accepted applications for a number of reasons. If you want to see your application you can PM the Commander and he'll move your application to the applications forum for few days so you can review it. Simple as that.
