The password thingy was added along time ago. And about removing the timer, I would say no, but increasing the time up to a minite as Faraon said is the best solution.

You can join with another name, everyone in the chat will see that you logged in and will say WB and stuff. Do this under another account and you can stay online as another user for hours.
Only one client can connect under the same username, causing the real owner of the account being unable to connect and play. Got my point?
