Donors aren't trusted people, so they could abuse it. Such as making really offensive topics and locking it, by giving the admins an extra job.

because donors are the ones who supported the community financially and helped the server to be alive so you guys (nono-donors) can enjoy the gameplay for a longer time? is that enough for you?
