"And the earth have We spread out, and placed therein firm hills, and caused each seemly thing to grow therein,"
The verse (interpretation of the meaning) "And the earth We spread out, and placed therein firm mountains, and caused to grow therein all kinds of things in due proportion" (Qur'an Chapter 15: verse 19) means We spread it out and placed firm mountains therein. This is like the verse in which God says (interpretation of the meaning): "And it is He Who spread out the earth, and placed therein firm mountains and rivers" (Qur'an Chapter 13: verse 3).
There is no contradiction between saying that it is round and saying that it was spread out, because in fact in its totality it is round, but to the one who stands on it and looks at it, it appears flat, as it appears to everyone.
"He Who has, made for you the earth like a carpet spread out; has enabled you to go about therein by roads (and channels); and has sent down water from the sky." With it have We produced diverse pairs of plants each separate from the others."
"And Allah has made the earth for you as a carpet (spread out),"
The verse (interpretation of the meaning) "He created the heavens and earth in truth. He wraps the night over the day and wraps the day over the night and has subjected the sun and the moon, each running [its course] for a specified term. Unquestionably, He is the Exalted in Might, the Perpetual Forgiver." (Qur'an Chapter 39: verse 5)
The Arabic word which is translated as "to wrap" in the verse is "Yukawer". This word comes from the same root as the word "Kura" which means "sphere". In Arabic, this word is commonly used as wrapping an object around an sphere thing. A person who knows Arabic can confirm this. This verse makes it very clear for those who've knowledge that Earth is round and not flat. Furthermore, people who say that if Qur'an was the word of God, he could have mentioned these things clearly but little they know that they can't simply understand everything by reading a single verse. You've to read the whole Qur'an to understand all it's meanings. You can't simply understand a book by reading a single paragraph from it obviously.
Also about the sun setting and rising in a specific place:
"Till, when he reached the setting-place of the sun, he found it setting in a muddy spring, and found a people thereabout. We said: O Dhu'l-Qarneyn! Either punish or show them kindness. .... Till, when he reached the rising-place of the sun, he found it rising on a people for whom We had appointed no shelter therefrom."
The verse (interpretation of the meaning) "Until, when he reached the setting place of the sun, he found it setting in a spring of black muddy (or hot) water” (Qur'an Chapter 18: verse 86)
It appears to be in the eye of the beholder, the sun sets on one country, but remains up in the sky for another, until it rises from the east on the following morning. So the earth looks flat in every region or part of it, because of its immense size.
This does not contradict its real shape, because we may see a very high mountain, but if we climb it and reach its summit we may find a flat surface there, and find an entire nation living there, and some of the people there may not know anything about the rest of the world, and so on.
And here the Qur'an strongly implies that the sky is solid:
"Then He ordained them seven heavens in two Days and inspired in each heaven its mandate; and We decked the nether heaven with lamps, and rendered it inviolable. That is the measuring of the Mighty, the Knower,"
"Who hath created seven heavens in harmony. Thou (Muhammad) canst see no fault in the Beneficent One's creation; then look again: Canst thou see any rifts ?"
This verse implies that there are no holes in heaven. It's impossible for heaven or space to have holes or cracks unless the sky is solid.
"See they not what is before them and behind them, of the sky and the earth? If We wished, We could cause the earth to swallow them up, or cause a piece of the sky to fall upon them. Verily in this is a Sign for every devotee that turns to Allah (in repentance)."
It's also impossible for a piece of the sky to fall down down on a person unless it is solid.
It looks like you don't have enough knowledge of science that's why you're asking this question. Do you think that clouds that forms above are just weightless? Do you think clouds are heavy or light? Maybe you'd say light but Qur'an stated 1400 years ago that clouds were not light at all but instead they could be very heavy. Sounds stupid, right? Let's look into these verse: (interpretation of the meaning)
And it is He who sends the winds as good tidings before His mercy until, when they have carried heavy rain-clouds, We drive them to a dead land and We send down rain therein and bring forth thereby [some] of all the fruits. Thus will We bring forth the dead; perhaps you may be reminded. - (Qur'an Chapter 7: verse 57)
It is He who shows you lightening, [causing] fear and aspiration, and generates the heavy clouds. - (Qur'an Chapter 13: verse 12)
This verse was taken as a joke centuries back but today modern science tells us that the clouds which forms above could weight up-to millions of pounds and you can google this yourself if you don't believe me. No wonder how could a person 1400 years back could get to know such information without any scientific equipment. So now we know that clouds could weight up-to that much makes it clear that if the one who created all things wants to make a cloud fall on somewhere, it's not a big deal for him.
And also there's a biological error:
"Man should reflect on what he was created from. He is created from spurting fluid, preceding between the backbone and the ribs"
Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs.
/sulb/ 'backbone' and /tara'ib/ 'ribs', as mentioned in this verse, where the fluid comes forth from between them. In these ideas the commentators mostly try to comment on these two terms referring to man and woman from which the egg and sperm form the fetus.
But, primarily it should be noted that the verse is speaking only about a man's fluid, because 'a drop emitted' belongs to a man not to a woman since that of a woman does not emit.
This is a clear commentary and the meanings of the terms simply conform to what is found in a dictionary. Meanwhile, there may be greater facts hidden in the verse that modern science has not found yet, however, scientists may uncover them in the future. Please note that it's not yet disapproved by science and neither approved. I believe that like other verses were denied before but later approved by science, this one would also go like that. Let's wait for the modern science to uncover things for you as you believe in science so there's nothing else I could ask you to do except wait for science to uncover them in future.
