People did say that it reached 85°C but I will undervolt it. Undervolting fixed the issue for many people and I hope it would do it for me too
85 C is normal for a gaming laptop in its use of higher requirements games. Even 88-90 C but I still recommend paying 20-30$ for a cooling pad. The parts are made to withstand higher temperatures than desktop pcs.

I own a gaming laptop myself (asus rog)

Its been one month since I got that laptop, I am happy to say, there has been no overheating issue, laptop never exceeded 87°C (that too when GPU was set on turbo and fans weren't running at highest RPM and no undervolt.) When I undervolt it (-110 mV is stable for me), it doesn't exceed 83°C. I have tested;
GTA V
Assassins creed rogue
Sprinter cell blacklist
Hitman absolution
Max Payne 3
I know these aren't latest titles, but they are not very old either. These games run 60 fps + on a mixture of high-vhigh/ultra settings. I believe newer titles won't be a problem either. /lock
