So you're saying that mechanics should be able to drive any vehicles?
I disagree with this, could become annoying, also you could hotwire a tank and explode everyone, while there are strong rules in the army section which disallow this.

Negative.
Which leads me to believe you didn't read my post at all, since i clearly said with the exception of tank and flying vehicles.

Definitely yes there would be more stuff then and mechanic class would be more usable and fun and kind of realistic since towing a rhino is pretty simple right now as if it's a normal vehicle.

+1 most of the time spawning as mech and just jumping around so why not make it more interesting? Being annoying makes me feel a true happiness sometimes

It’s time consuming and tedious, this doesn’t increase gameplay it only provides a random tactic without having an overall purpose other then it being among the existence. mechanics aren’t criminals so in turn they don’t go around hotwiring vehicles for fun so as for it being realistic/roleplayish it’s not, unless if you are bringing the stolen vehicle to a chop shop of some sort but even still the mechanics in chop shops aren’t the ones stealing the cars, they have runners for that.

However if you were to scatter random cars around the map for criminals not mechanics (mainly cars that don’t spawn normally such as the buccaneer, Glendale, oceanic, blade, sandking, manana etc) to steal them and have said “tool kit” to act as the keys to the cars then have it to where they can be delivered to the recycling center turned chop shop for a nice profit and score. One scenario (for cops) could be the cop could be able to use the command to ask the civilian to pull over if he doesn’t comply ofc slap a wanted level (with legit reason given), if the criminal is searched then the item will give a wanted level but not every single time, if the criminal is arrested you obviously cannot leave the car there so maybe have them bring the stolen ride to the PD compound for about what you would get for an arrest though to prevent cops from just stealing the car it would have to be locked for cops until it’s stolen, with criminals the toolkit stays on the robber until delivery, and ofc like the presents or the pipe bomb robberies the cars would spawn in wooded locations or in areas that are far out, basically in locations that would make it seem as if they were hidden by ether the owner or whatever to keep the roleplay aspect of the whole idea.

Judging by the replies and the votes it looks like there are plenty of diverse opinions on this matter.

If we had to implement this what we are sure about is that player would instantly get wanted level.

Perhaps a very high chance to fail and only work if you buy an item which can be purchased by a salesman only, making the items dealer class more useful at the same time?

Very nice connection there, only disadvantage is if there is no item dealers currently online you wouldn't be able to do the task. Also if you go with the high chance to fail, you could try something like: the more mechanic skill you have, lower the chance that you will fail in the hot-wiring attempt. (similar to how kidnapping works I think?) If someone disagrees feel free to post your opinion/suggestion or say what you would change about the current ideas.

Well that doesn't sound too bad to me. It's a bit of an overpowered thing to do anyway, so we don't want this to happen 24/7. Plus I believe many players will be willing to spawn as salesmen, taking into consideration they will be making a good amount of cash just from selling that item.

What do the rest thing about this? Any ideas?
