You are wrong, what you stated is only right if DPs were free. Everytime you rob a store you also get about 0.000005 usd richer. If of course energ let us sell donation points for money etc.. you can still sell them, but if you get caught obviously youre gonna get banned. And its the posibility(although not allowed but physically possible) to sell it that gives the ingame objects a value in USD.

Just like drugs are worth money per gram.... Or gold for that matter... You aren't allowed to sell drugs but it's still worth money. Obviously 1 gram of weed is worth many times more than 1 in-game money is.
