Depends if you're looking at it in a business perspective, Apple is currently worth $586 billion dollars and Microsoft is worth $407 billion. Looks like Apple are doing something right by being jack of all trades, Microsoft and Windows have the gaming side of it but most people I know who game have pirated their OS.

Google's unifying its platform. Since it uses the material design on all its devices, it's also making the shift on web applications. Google tried this in February on their search engine, it's going to give a more streamlined look to all its utilities and services across the devices.
Personally, Material design should be left to the mobiles. It looks shitty on computers, I prefer the traditional classic layouts.

Apple isn't exactly a jack of all trades. It's strength is its simplicity, I as a user of both understand the differences pretty well. The Mac is targeted for people looking to do quick tasks. It does work for complex tasks too, but that's not its strength. Microsoft does it vice versa. It's stuck in between now, and is neither appealing to the complex users nor the simple ones. Windows 10 should have been a different series, something like vista. That would have given windows a chance to be the best at both. But integrating them into one isn't a great idea.

I'm still on the old one, not going to bother doing it as there might be bugs etc. Just going to wait for the official one to come.

I'd definitely recommend switching over to the newer layout.

I haven't encountered any bugs at all.

Also, I didn't personally update the layout. One day, I went on Youtube and it was suddenly different. Not sure if it's geographically permitting or not since Ireland is quite close to England and you didn't get the update while I did... But yeah its nice af hah

Like right now a lot of popular companies are doing shit to get money without caring if it makes the customer happy or not.


However without YouTube it's getting annoying the way it's working out and I don't even care about the layout. A lot of old videos I'd sometimes like to go back too are "deleted because of a tiny ass copyright thing due to a song that played in the background of a video or whatever" and "Video blocked in your country" LIKE FUCKING WHY? Some videos that where even made in America say that


So it's pretty annoying and YouTube isn't even about "broadcast yourself" anymore it's more about "a company got butthurt over some bullshit so you can no longer post this" [which seems to have gotten worse as time went on]


I don't post anything I am more ranting on not being able to watch shit.

This new thing they're doing is going to worsen shit.

So I'm just waiting for its crash
