When we implement suggestions, we always make sure to check the community response. Can you please give me some examples as to where we haven't listened the community, where this is clear? What kind of neglect, can you elaborate and give some examples?

I don't think you fully grasp the problems that SA:MP are going through right now though. SAMP player count hit its peak in 2013 and has been rapidly declining since. In 2013, LSRCR had a very different player base compared to now in terms of where the majority of players are from.

Go through these posts and you can see the true reason as to why our player count is dropping. Neglect from Kalcor. Him range banning India on the forums without giving any proper reason.

Also, a lot of servers are faking their player count. We don't do this at LSRCR, but I can assure you that some of the servers you see with really high player counts are fake. Here's evidence:

https://forum.sa-mp.com/showthread.php?t=661047

Now there is still hope for SA:MP, if you haven't noticed some of the major contributors to the SA:MP scene were banned for disagreeing with Kalcor and trying to create their own version of SA:MP without copying code. I am pretty confident that this is the only hope for SA:MP, Kalcor himself seems to have abandoned hopes.

You can check out https://www.burgershot.gg if you want to look at people trying to save SAMP.

EDIT:

I assume that some of the servers you are talking about which still hit the mark are players with fake counts, after having looked into some of the servers myself. There are also specific language servers, like Russian, Spanish etc which still has an average player base, but these are steadily dropping as well. Don't be fooled by servers who manipulate their player count.
We are in no way abandoning LSRCR though. We have hopes for OPEN:MP, and when Open:MP is launched it will definitely be a lot easier to script as they will actually work on fixing SA:MP bugs and such, compared to Kalcor who just ignores them for years.

I think CXdur has said it all.

It would be better to check the SAMP statistics yourself before jumping to conclusions.

I have done a quick research for you, speaking facts and statistics. You have set 2017 as the benchmark, so I will start from there:

- In January 2017 SAMP had approximately 50.000 players on average.

- Almost two years later, in April 2019, SAMP has approximately 18.000 players on average. As you can see, more than half of them quit playing the game.

Proof: http://www.mauzen.org/samp/

You keep saying how other servers are still hitting the mark, but that's far from the truth. Since you talk about Lsrcr which is a CnR server, I will compare it to the top 1 CnR server (in terms of playerbase) of all time. I can't say the name of it for obvious reasons but:

A year ago, that server had on average around 80-90 players daily. As of now, a year letter, that number has dropped to 50 players on average daily. I can talk about other famous servers too that have had a huge playerbase loss.

The thing is, it's not their fault, our fault. There are underlying problems which some of you tend to ignore due to either lack of knowledge/research or just as an attempt to make it look like it's solely an Lsrcr issue.

CXDur talked about this, there are two main reasons why SAMP playerbase is decreasing:

1. Game is getting older and older, new games come on the scene, with better graphics etc.

2. Lack of interest from the founder of SAMP himself, Kalcor. Hence why lately there have been many arguements within the SAMP community and some developers are already working on a new project. There are so many bugs currently which Kalcor tends to overlook. There is no motivation from his side, hence why this downfall.

As for number 1, it's something inevitable, we can't do anything about it unfortunately. Better PCs, new games and so on. But regarding the second one, certain individuals are already attempting to make a change, as I stated.

So after all those things we have said, do you still believe it's Lsrcr's fault why our playerbase is decreasing?

Now this is another thing. People often compare today's playerbase with 2014's one, but can we really do this? I joined this server for the first time in 2015. Server had many Europeans/Americans, most of them were adults or at least old enough to understand some things.

On the other hand, nowadays it's not the same. As CXDur said, most players come from countries like Pakistan, Egypt, Tunisia, Philippines. We shouldn't really focus on why is that, I think we all pretty much know. And most of those players are very, very young, unlike in the past.

Yes, in the past we used to be more strict when it came to rulebreaks and such, yes nowadays we are way more lenient. But why is that?

We, staff members remain the same, but the playerbase changes. We ought to adapt to those changes and adjust our punishments. You keep saying how we should ban a player (even temporarily) after a single rulebreak. But do you think that will work? Do you think those players will wait their bans out? Do you think they will even understand why they got banned in the first place without even attempting to talk to them first? Do you really think server will be a better place after permanently banning all those so-called rulebreakers you keep mentioning?

Yes, quality > quantity, but to some extent. Around 80% of the playerbase consists of those players you are talking about. If we banned all of them, server would have been pretty much dead long ago. Do you want to play with 5 people? And do you believe those 5 people are going to join the server when they know there is literally nothing to do there?

I am not saying we should ignore rulebreakers and just let them ruin other's gameplay, but we have to be more lenient than we used to for many reasons. We have banned many players for constant rulebreaking, and that's something no one can deny.

You should also take into consideration how players can change. I will talk about myself. I was permanently banned for using cheats. I was lucky enough because of Global Unban and was given one more chance. And now here I am. And I can talk about many many people who changed aswell, and people who can change in the future too if we give them a second chance. There is always some protential.

Last but not least, we always care about what the community says before accepting or denying a suggestion. Obviously there might be some exceptions aswell, but in general we usually do. You can't imagine how much effort some of us put into making this server a better place, discussing everyday server related things, testing stuff, dealing with reports, everything. And remember, we are all volunteers here. We are not getting paid for this, and no one is forcing us to do what we do.

It's quite disturbing to hear how we don't really care about the community, when we are doing our best to make all of you satisfied. But we can't please everyone, and that's one thing we should all realise. There is always going to be one disliking possible changes, and that's understandable and perfectly normal. It's all about what the majority say, and that's what we have been following all those years.

You can stay entitled to your opinion if you wish, I respect it, but it looks like you fail to understand/accept some things.

I’m really happy to see that this is your view on the SA-MP situation with Kalcor and the whole new Open:MP thing!!!
Considering Open:MP will be backwards compatible, there’s little reason not to switch if the GM will run on it.

You are putting words in my mouth, problematic players doesn’t include a player who broke 1 rule or accidentally rammed or even people like rally who chose to turn from his bad past or you mastro who did the same after the global unban, I’m talking about those who come in the game solely to take advantage of other players, constantly ruins gameplay and goes out of his way to annoy the community or certain members of said community, take eternity for an example, he fully admits it these days because he feels as if Lsrcr is a safe haven to do as he pleases, manel was the same, it took month of constant reporting, content info gathering etc because nothing was done about the issue for moths, this was back when Lsrcr had 3-5 active staff members a day, these issues kept getting ignored, players such as myself included got tired of these issues and their inactivity started becoming known because of that, let’s also not forget that Lsrcr these days is a TDM server that advertises as a CnR and light roleplay server, if and when we do get new players (not the ban evaders who pretend not to understand the rules) they mostly are expecting a light roleplay/cops and robbers server even the rules and what not are designed to be that, however what been added is a whole lot of group TDM and only 5% CnR so if that’s what you mean by adapting then no wonder people are leaving, Lsrcr has lost its identity players who like the server don’t like that and leave because they came for a CnR server but that’s not what they were given and then have to put up with problematic players, like it’s not an “opinion” these are facts that have caused a decline in the active playerbase for years, that’s is the two issues that have been brought up for a long time by both old members and new members, ofc you are not going to please everyone but turning it into what it isn’t and allowing problematic situations to ensue is a sure way to diminish a playbase. Even if we take the samp situation completely out Lsrcr still is dealing with issues that need to be re-worked and dealt with.

I want this server to succeed probably more so then most I’ve assisted both players and admins for years if I was a person who got insulted I’m pretty sure that putting words in my mouth to discredit me would have done it.

You pmed me on Discord and I replied to you there, but I will do here aswell.

I am not putting words in your mouth, I don't remember when and where but I think you once suggested to temporarily ban players who break a server rule without even warning first. I might be wrong, but I am pretty sure it was you who said that. If it wasn't you, I apologise.

The thing is, you still didn't comment on the statistics thing. SAMP had approximately 50k players in 2017, while in 2019 only 18k.

Why is that? You can tell many players have left, and it's not an Lsrcr issue. It's a SAMP issue, and the main reason is the founder, Kalcor. All servers have lost players, some have lost more than one hundred. You said some are still hitting the mark, you can PM me their names and I will check the statistics for you. If they still have the same amount of players, then I will admit it.

Maybe the reason why you and very few others don't play as much is because of the server management etc, but does everyone have this opinion on the server? Certainly not.

Most here have left just because they don't find this game interesting anymore. It happens with every game. Once you achieve everything you eventually get bored. If you ask some relatively new players now they will say how they love this server, just because they are new to it.

You have suggested many things a couple of times, but from what I have seen most of the community members don't agree with you. Fortunately or unfortunately we implement what the majority want. Take a look at the suggestions section and you will see what I am talking about. You can always suggest things, but if most are negative then we have no other option but to deny them. If many are positive then we can happily accept and implement it. Take as an example the sawn-offs and 2 shots suggestion. You strongly dislike both, but 95% of the community likes it. How can we remove them?

I do understand you might have had some bad experiences here, people maybe constantly targetting you and so on, but in general it sounds more like a you problem after all and not everyone's.

As for the problematic players you talked about, maybe in some cases we were too lenient, I agree, but I have already explained why it happens occasionally. We simply can't give the same treatment to an adult and to a very young player who barely understands what's going on. Playerbase has changed. There are a couple of players who are still permanently banned due to having a hostile attitude. Without name-calling, if someone is constantly misbehaving they will certainly face the consequences. It's just a matter of time.

Since everyone is going off topic I would like to share some of my opinions about the low player base in the server.

The only thing on why we are facing a low playerbase Its because admins permanently banning players while other servers dont. I am not comparing LSRCR into another server this server is the best but the Banning system is what I am pointing here, other servers dont permanently banned players while LSRCR do. This is actually the main reason why we are having a low playerbase. There are lots of banned players who are still eager to play but they have no choice as they have been permanently banned. I once agreed on Lumix suggestion on the banning system. Players shouldn't be banned permanently. The thing why LSRCR is unique than other servers Its because of the banning system. I once joined a server back in 2012 (when I havent found LSRCR yet) I used to cheat in there and got banned, but guess what they only banned me for 4 months but anyways that server is dead. LSRCR should do things similar, a YEAR ban or so. We should banned players temporarily but the temporary banned should depends on how much heavy the rule-break a player did.A player who used cheats can change after he received a year temporary ban or even months Its up to him if he will change or else he will receive a ban again. It will double up the staffs work but I'm pretty sure the server will rise up again in this idea. I believe people will change after receiving a year/month temporary ban as they dont wanna get banned again. I have never seen a server permanently banning players unlike LSRCR and that is may be the reason why we are hitting a low playerbase. I am not telling this to be implemented in the server and I dont think administrators will give a f about this This is just my opinion to the server for having a low playerbase. Just to be honest there are still lots of banned players who are eager to play and are willing to change, especially the old ones who used to messed up with the server. Lumix suggestion was great and I hope administrators will decide as soon as possible. Take this message as a positive one, no offense.

You cannot just target me personally like this. You create problem urself and then point ur fingers towards me. I dont care if you left the server coz of problematic players or etc. But the point is if you cannot digest anything in the server which is 18+ then im sorry this is not for u. Lsrcr is dead because other games has taken over the playerbase. And who the hell would play a game which is so old. Lsrcr can get active if some enjoyment events are taken place or players who can play while having fun not to make grudges on each other.
