also, i think one cannot delete one's post as soon as somebody else posts after him.
meaning, quote or not, he can't delete it anymore.

Quoted post = cannot be deleted by the poster.
Also a non-quoted post can be deleted till the post get quoted by another, if so then the only way to delete the post is to use "EDIT" button as you said and write "Removed" or "Deleted".
