back to the question: "Is religion a really good thing?"
I would say yes and no.
I could also ask this question: "Is science a good thing?"
I would say yes and no.
It is up to the humans whether they make it a good thing or not, whether it is about science or religion, it's the thoughts that goes through a human brain and the decisions he makes.
Believers can decide to fight for his religion, or peacefully pray....
Humans could use science to create 1000s of more schools so that every kid can go to school, or create 10 aircraft carriers loaded with weapons for war.
You simply can't blame a book like the bible or the Koran for wars, neither u can't blame science.
The only ones to blame is humans, which a lot of them don't take responsibly for their actions.(E.G: They do it in the name of their god...what a lame excuse and very immature.)
