I will be completely honest here. I am not very fond of this "supporter" thing and I will try to explain why.

So right now the supporters' answers are not visible in the main chat and I believe it's wrong. I am 100% sure that there are players that don't know the rules perfectly and every once in a while a newbie asks a question in the mainchat and players (regardless of their supporter rank) answer. It's a good way to remind ourselves the rule in question.

Then again, moving the questions to the main chat is a good idea. Answers however...I feel that it's useless that only the supporters answer the question. What if I was a normal player and I'd see a question that a supporter answered? Does that mean I, as a regular player, cannot answer it? Maybe I can explain it better than the supporter did.

A supporter must support players, not be like a Ls-rcr Wikipedia. Go and assist the player that asked how to rob a store. Take him to the bank if he doesn't know where it is. Go next to him and explain using /w instead of bragging on the main chat that you know the rules. Everyone should know them.

I have a strong feeling that at least 50% of the Supporters have this weird idea in their heads that if they answer a lot of questions in the main chat they are one step closer to being a Moderator. This is what's all about for some of them. No offense and no names given.

I'm not saying to remove the Supporter rank, but to decide its real purpose. Be a part of a Wikipedia, or actually helping the player, assisting him in his early days in the server?

PS: To whoever said that he never asks a "regular" player questions regarding the server because "he knows better", I guess you learned from your mistakes, considering the fact that you have a few warnings and bans on your account. This is not the point! Instead of punching your chest like you're the almighty, teach others so that they don't make the mistakes you've done in the past.

Just because you have an additional command to your disposal doesn't mean that you are above "regular" players. Grow up!
Ah hagi, people will start thinking we're the same person rofl

On a serious note, I couldn't have said this better since we do share the same views

Jesus... It's way better now. Staff team just needs to keep an eye on the current supporters and remove those who are not capable of handling situations. About the clearance of any question, the supporter may reply, "I'll forward your question and come back when I'm 100 percent sure"; he then talks to an admin or discuss on forum/in-game. (For that, supporters chat and supporters section on forum is needed) - This will do good trust me. Showing it to public will make it even worst.

This one is simple and will work nicely.
That's what I keep saying
We must have very different opinions. A lot of questions are repeated, multiple times per day. If all players were able to see questions and answers, it would definitely be helpful for some of the players who have not yet learned how to ask questions - and the once who do might learn the answer to a question they haven't even asked yet.

I have considered displaying questions and answers from in-game on the website so that we could forward some of the players there, but we can't know for sure that all answers are correct and elaborate enough.

I personally think making the questions public is a good idea, but we should of course if so allow players to toggle this part of the chat.

Perhaps we can make a way to accept an answer to a question, if it's accepted it would be okay for it to be displayed on the website or what not.

I am just like everyone else giving my opinion. I've asked staff members to post theirs and hopefully we can come up with a good idea. I wouldn't go as far as saying this is how to fix the supporter system, but it might perhaps be a good improvement.

I started having that view after seeing what a certain someone did TBH and that some supporters have said to me that they will eventually be mod as if it's how things are suppose to go (not saying names)

Legit, I don't feel the supporter rank is genuine and even when it first came out I'm sitting there like "why do I need to help people as my job when I can do it now on my own free will?"

So currently it feels lacking of genuine people who actually care to help. (I don't mean all supporters are not genuine)

I bet those same people think getting mod is all fun and games. (A lot of people try too hard to be staff and it's obvious. Especially when you get mad at someone who legit just wants to help.) Sometimes I have to sacrifice my fun to try to deal with situations. Then have people trying to tell me how to do my job yet they can't even see what I am currently doing. Didn't even accept staff for myself either. (I still find ways to enjoy it though don't get me wrong, I'm just stating this for people who think getting mod/admin means fun commands to play with and more fun in the server and no responsibilities etc)

So I'm going going to end it there.

Ye, I talked with Storm about how the idea of supporters indirectly feeds itself from some people's misconception that supporter++ = moderator.

However, people in charge of picking members to join the staff team aren't stupid lol, and they can tell who is genuinely helping people and who's doing a "half-ass job" to get himself out there.

Anyways, I do like how Storm also stated what I said on another topic that helping actually implies going over to the person and actually "WASTE" some of your gameplay in exchange to help them. It's just how genuine helping works, and yes, that is what makes it so time consuming.

Being a mod maybe is a pain in the ass but being a mods brother who doesn't get ingame is worse (rofl)

Anyways yeah I felt it was lacking genuine people when I got ignored 7 times on a question I needed to know asap. I've also seen people try to get high and mighty cause of the title yet do little as possible to help. lol There are still some good people on the supporters team though they know who they are.

Everyone Is looking at the bad side of the Supporters when they delay/don't answer to a Question No one gave us Credit for Helping Newbies know their way around the server Countless times as it's our job, I Agree there are some downsides in the supporters system such as So many supporters and Few of them Actually Respond to Questions And they should be removed if they don't do Their job, But taking Into consideration they might be busy in game/real life Because we are not machines we join the server to have fun and play like anyone else here we just have More Responsibility in answering questions So Don't be so hard on us for Responding late.

PS: it's a good Idea to add a Command to Accept a Question so Supporter can answer it because I've Witnessed some supporters spam the answer of a Question that has been already Answered there is no point of that Except spamming the Individual who did /ask And Sometimes The chat Moves so fast we Miss The Questions So A command which displays the list of Questions we are given with the player id is really Helpful to us And a Supporters Chat Which we can Discuss answers Would be helpful as well The Right Thing to do here is to make Supporter More Efficient and Effective so they can help More Players in better Ways.

Short Story For Example: If you have a Worker who doesn't Do his/her Job Perfectly First You give him Better boots to work with and better tools If he Still Doesn't Do his Job Perfectly You Fire The Bastard!

Thanks for sharing the opinion, you make some valid points.

However, as I have said infinite times now, helping does sadly imply you lose out on gameplay. Yes, helping does mean you connect and then you can't really play like you want all the time. It is unfortunate, and it is very time consuming, trust me.

I was obsessed enough up to the point that I failed a math test and realize that I was getting a bit too serious with the whole helping others. I can still do it for 1-2 people, but not be 24/7 on the server since it implies that I am losing out on real life opportunities that I should take.

Essentially, if I can help myself while helping the server, that's great. But I can't really walk up to any game companies and whatnot and say "hey you know what I spent an entire 3 months answering questions non stop in a samp server.. so do I get the job?" cause that implies that I am immature in setting up my priorities.

Taking note of the last paragraph, I will appreciate the supporters when they do the kind of helping that I talked about all the time, the type of helping when you actually go to some player and "waste" time and gameplay on him, and avoid making him feel like a pest.

Supporters idea, or well at least people that take on such a role, is great because it means that for new players there's always someone "available" when they're connected to help them. But seriously help them, getting involved.

What are you guys on about? Just a little thing I want to say. Supporters applied to get the "job", they did it willingly. Now one of you is saying that you're not machines or that you're busy in game.

Well fellas, welcome to the Staff's world. This is what we always do. This is how it feels like. You applied to be something "more than a regular player" who has...guess what...more responsibility.

Nobody asked you to answer right after the question had been asked, but to assist the player. If you don't feel like doing so or can't do it in the first place, nobody is forcing you to be a supporter and by all means nobody asked you to apply.

Give this man a medal. You said it Storm!

This is what I mean, they shouldn't ignore if they don't know the answer, it gives the player a bad image for the supporter team, instead they may assist them or tell them that they'll first make sure what the right answer is for his/her question.

Ah unfortunate comparison Storm, you don't want to compare Supporters to staff, specially after we (and other people) have said that it is not related at all xd

Your point is entirely valid, its just the comparison that doesn't make sense.. why compare supporters to something they're not
