So I bought this game 2 hours ago, and Its already pissing me off so much.

I spawned, run to some rock, suddenly bounce in the air and break my legs, cant do shit then, so I go into the water and drown, wont let me respawn, I relog, Im alive again, in the water, with a broken leg, so I repeat but still cant respawn, so I cannot do a fucking thing in the game, might just as well uninstall already.

The drowning bug will be fixed tomorrow with a patch. Then you'll be able to drown.

Avoid rocks / high surfaces, don't jump up from anything if you have an option to walk. Avoid stairs of a firestation or a prison as much as you can and don't trust the doors thinking It'll save you from the zombies. They will be able to clip through if you're desynced or lagging. If a zombie starts hitting you while you're in a building, exit the building asap. Close all doors of each room you enter to decrease the clipping zombies.

Do not climb towers or anything like a tower for now. Don't log out inside big apartments, infact don't log out inside a building.

Don't logout near a zombie, NEVER logout near a player if you're sure they won't kill you, for the 30 seconds you'll still be standing there so you can get killed by zombies and players, this is to avoid combat logging.

If you get to leave the server, leave the server when you confirm there are no zombies around you, or log out at a forest or somewhere far from the main zombie spawns (cities)

Don't let the zombies hit you a lot otherwise you'll get your gear ruined making it unusable. If you want to change your clothes first drag all items you have to the new clothing and then switch to the new clothing. Avoid putting items at the floor in a building but if you do get to do that and lose your item check the entrance of the building to find the item.

If you drop an item while you're moving the item will spawn a few steps forward ahead at the place you dropped it, you'll need to move forward while having your inventory open.

Don't logout while climbing ladders and be really careful while you climb ladders, don't press S after you're done with the climbing animation, instead press W. If you want to climb a ladder just go infront of it and find the option to climb, never try to go backwards and climb it.

Always get the biggest you can get. The more slots the better you are.

Keep yourself warm! If you find something that can keep you warm take it straight away! This is common sense, what keeps you warm IRL keeps you warm in the game.

T shirt > Wool Coat > Hoodie > Down jacket (keeps you dry aswell) > Gorka uniform.

Get a sewing kit when you find one to patch your clothes!

You may drink from ponds, eat everything you find in the game.

Don't worry for the first 15 hours of gameplay, it will be really hard, REALLY hard. But you'll start learning and start surviving.

Surviving at DayZ is hard if you're new to the game. Focus on LEARNING things, more than your gear. Because you will die several times at the process of learning.
