Greetings everyone, I kinda need some advice hehe, as you can see, after I joined the server it I didn't came back after leaving, the issue is my that Dad didn't allow me to go to a cafe to play games. We talk about for my future, I was hooked by reading novels/tales and some other books. I told him that I want to be an author, but the problem is I haven't made any story yet, so it will be difficult for me. So in order to play again I was told that I need to make a light novel. If there's any expirienced in making novels/story could you please guide me?

Anyways, here's a question for some readers.
What is the genre that the most of the readers read?
Slice of Life, Fantasy or Sci-Fi?

I maybe make the novel and post it on forum chapter by chapter, if possible could you please correct some of my grammar mistakes?

As someone who actually writes for fun and creative outlet, I can tell you this...

You won't make a good novel if you force it.

Don't write what you think your readers want to read. Write what you want to write. Your settings, your characters, your everything. Nothing should be about tailoring to the reader, It's all about getting your story to them. As long as you write it well, convey the right images, and proper words, you will have a book.

I share the same opinion as lost soul. You shouldn't write to impress your reader, in this case it's your father. Choosing a genre to write just because it interests majority of readers isn't a good thing either. I suggest reading a lot, doesn't matter what you read it can be a novel, a story, a poem or even a paragraph. It only matters what you find in that piece of article. The more you read, the more you will develop the idea of writing. Reading can also help you to overcome grammatical errors and improve your sentence structure. You will also come across new words which can definitely improve your vocabulary.

Writing something just for the sake of being able to play a game is not something I would encourage. This game won't be there forever. It can indeed help you to improve your language as you engage in transactions which I agree, but you should focus on your career more than that.

Finally, I suggest you to start writing small works rather than starting with a heavy novel if you have no experience in writing. Don't take this as discouraging. But if you think you can complete the novel, then no worries go ahead.

Lost_Soul has given some pretty good advice here. If you enjoy what you have written, then surely enough there will be people who will enjoy it just as much.

Just enjoy what you write and the rest will come along.
