Weapon damage overhaul

Your name: BeatEn
Suggestion headline: Tweak weapon damage values making other weapons useful
Importance of suggestion: 10/10
Why should it be accepted: Generic weapons are used because other weapons offer no value at all.
Combat shotguns and Pump action shotgun are so ass that's why no one bothers to use it
Silenced Pistol can be a good option aswell but the damage is so little no one in their right mind would use it
County Rifle which is a widely used weapons in other servers does lesser damage than fucking mp5
AK47 should offer increased damage than M4, the tradeoff being less accuracy, range and lesser number of bullets per magazine, but its also ass
Then we have the fuckass rpg ranged chainsaw which does massive damage without even touching my guy, either remove that shit or make the damage 1/10th that shit is not right, even if its available in only one tiny corner of the whole map, then its not right. "But everyone can buy it", should everyone install aimbot to level the playing field or what so that should be allowed aswell
MP5 driveby still is so overpowered, uzi and tec were nerfed but this mp5 still is a walking aimbot which no one talks about.

tl;dr:
BUFF: combat shotgun, pump action shotgun, silenced pistol, county rifle, AK47
NERF: MP5
HEAVY NERF / REMOVE: Chainsaw

Support on this. Everyone uses the same gun same tactic, and it's so OP even my usually OP spaz-12 feels like a toy. Having what is akin to no reload on a shotgun isn't fair play, so lets buff the others to on point with it.

The chainsaw damage was nerfed heavily, the way it used to be abused is now suppressed and tbh i used chainsaw too much when it had massive damage ever since it got nerfed i've stopped using it completely and cant I trust its damage anymore, down for the other weapon nerfs (mp5 mostly)

How about we buff/change the damage system? Chainsaw was nerfed so badly back then and been removed from 24/7 and all groups that contain chainsaw command. About mp5, we cant actually nerf that, UZI/TEC9 been nerf badly as well before and only mp5 left usable. Good point, other weapons are forgetten but it's not just about the damage but the accuration of the weapon it self, for explain M4 is accurate than AK47 and same goes for the others. This isn't actually the best idea but if others agree we can change The damage system. -1 for Chainsaw and MP5 nerfs.

The current damage system could be improved, but the weapons you mentioned aren’t really weapons that are commonly used across GTA. Maybe the MP5 could be nerfed a bit.

Some weapons are supposed to be situational, not dominant in every fight. If we start buffing everything that isn't meta, we'll just trade one broken balance for another.

Take shotguns for example. They're already close range weapons. If they get heavily buffed, they turn into instant win in close quarters combat with almost no counterplay, and that's overpowered. Also, the silenced pistol isn't supposed to be a DPS weapon, I think it's meant for situational use.

The current AK-47 and M4 tradeoff sounds good and feels fairly balanced, but mechanics don’t really handle accuracy and range tradeoffs that well, cz a higher damage AK would just make it oppressive, especially in the hands of experienced players.

The County Rifle point is debatable, means this part is open to discussion and depends on perspective or playstyle, but comparing it directly to MP5 damage ignores other factors things like rate of fire, weapon handling and effective range.

I do agree that MP5 driveby is a walking aimbot. If it needs adjustment, it should be done gradually, not with a heavy nerf that makes it useless. In the other hand, Buffing UZI and Tec-9 damage slightly would probably be useful.

Yeah, the chainsaw hits hard, but it's useful in certain situations and also easy to dodge with proper positioning (depends on player's strategy). Completely removing it feels excessive.

• Actual gaming data should be used to properly alter the weaponry balance. Otherwise, all we're doing is shifting the meta instead of actually fixing it.

I highly recommend improving the damage system. I've seen apapa's video of him comparing between the old/new dmg system and i can tell the differences. With this damage system, fights takes forever and if you are in a situation such as 3 v 1 or even 2 v 1, you won't have a chance with this damage system.
Note: i posted here because this suggestion is related to the damages system.

I think we could look into redefining some of the weapon damage values. However to my recollection the chainsaw was already nerfed and it's not as OP anymore?

It was nerfed to prevent it being used inside, but it's still pretty damage dealing. Personally I don't see any issue with it though.

If you want help with what guns to buff/nerf, DM me on discord, I have a list/ideas
