TeamSpeak Ban Appeal - stere0123

Posted: August 2, 2013, 5:53 am
by stere0123
Name: stere0123
Ban Reason: "Constantly makes extremely loud noises on the mic just to get a rise"
Date: 8/2/2013, 1AM
Ban length: Permanent
Defence: I scratched my mic for 2 seconds and was immediately permabanned by Andrew. This is the second time I have ever scratched my mic with Andrew in the channel.

Andrew came into our channel at max volume and ate chips very loudly next to his microphone for about 15 minutes. He then blasted sex noises, then Justin Bieber at full volume into the channel. Midway through the JB song, I scratched my mic (for like 2 seconds) and I was banned PERMANENTLY about 5 seconds later. I have a teamspeak recording of the entire event up to the ban, and will gladly upload it if requested. I would like to add that Andrew does this kind of thing daily with no punishment, so I find it highly unfair that he permabanned me for doing it for 2 seconds.

I have warned you many times (including the last time I banned you for doing that) that your extremely loud scratching noise that hurts everyone in the channel and can potentially damage speakers is not allowed and will result in a ban. The rules of the channel state that you can do what you want until someone tells you to stop (this does not bypass an admin's orders). If you didn't like the way I was eating, you could have told me to stop. If you didn't like the song I was playing, you should have told me to stop. You asked me why it was okay for me to be annoying, but for you it wasn't. I said that this does not break speakers/hurt peoples' ears. You then proceeded to make the noise. I banned you permanently, as I wanted you to explain in an appeal why you think that was appropriate. I have no problem if you want to play a song or make funny noises, but when you purposely make extremely loud noises through the microphone to purposely get a rise out of me, and/or hurt other peoples' ears, I have to take action.

Your ban has been reduced to 1 week. When you come back, you will be on a permanent global mute.

I can deal with a 1 week ban.
But a few things; Several people (including me) told you to stop making the ear raping noises. Not so much on this occasion, but definitely on past occasions.
That won't make a difference now, but I have a request.
If we aren't allowed to abuse our mics, then you shouldn't be either.

You almost daily come into our channel and play sex noises, max out your mic volume and screech, and otherwise annoy us on purpose.
Please don't be a hypocrite and ban people for doing exactly what you do.
All I ask is that you not do this again. No ear raping or molesting your mic.

I personally had the idea that if you can do all of this on your mic with no punishment, I should be able to aswell.
But clearly I'm wrong. So again, please, don't be a hypocrite and ban people for doing things that you do daily, as it can give people the idea that its okay to do, when it secretly isn't.

Everyone in the channel was enjoying the stupid noises I was playing. We were all having fun. The volume of my microphone is irrelevant, as it's not my intentions to disturb with it. Skype changes my microphone boost, so I have no control over it while Skype is running. If it's a problem, I'm asked to turn down the volume, and I do. If you don't like the noises, ask me to stop. Making annoying sounds in that channel is allowed. You have been told that you are NOT allowed to make your scratching noises, as it hurts peoples' ears. By all means, "abuse" your mic, but don't make sounds that purposely hurt peoples' ears. It was very clear to me that you were trying to get a reaction from me. I understand at your young age that these impulses are hard to control, but I can't take your age into consideration. Everyone is treated equally on the server, so I can't make any exceptions.
