Fast opinions - buying a laptop - help needed

Hello,
So this kid (we're all children of gods) has a car ticket to pay, and if he pays within the next 3-4 days, he pays a lot less, hence he's selling his laptop (he made the advertisement yesterday). I dropped the price to 400$
Main concerns:
Laptop: 3 years old
Battery does not work
Specifications:
Asus Rog G73J
CPU: intel core i-7 920XM
Graphics: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870
RAM: 8GB
Hard 1TB
Display 17.3 inch
Please post your opinions. The guy lives 1 hour drive from me which is pretty close and I have to decide within the next 10 hours.
