tutorial on how to update your graphics card in Windows 7 or Vista
i know there are some similar tutorials on the webs but hell, i was bored

I see a lot of people having problems running their gta. because of threads like Big's post i've decided to make a small tutorial how to update your graphics card's driver which may cause one of the problems.

If you know your graphics card type please skip step 1 and 2
step one
press the windows key and the pause break key simultaneously
Spoiler: show
(windows key)pause break key may also be displayed like 'pse/brk' on your keyboard
a window similar like the spoiler below should pop-up
Spoiler: show
click on device manager as seen on the left side of the screen
step two
a window similar to the image in the spoiler below should pop up, click on display adapters and write down the name of your graphics card, in my case its NVIDIA GeForce GTS250.
Spoiler: show
step three
now that you know your graphic card's type, go to the manufacturers website.
the 2 most common manufacturers are, ATI and NVIDIA clicking the links will direct you to the manufacturer's driver download page
select the driver that correspondents your graphic card's type, download and simply install. During the installation your screen may flash to black sometimes, this is normal. a system reboot may be required, if asked so don't ignore it
Step four
celebrate! if everything went alright, give your pc some love and even more if gta sa works again!
quit playing, take care.

It can fix errors—often seen as system lockups or graphical glitches—and can improve overall performance—allowing games to run more smoothly. Sometimes a driver update will even add support for new features or functionality. Some games might require functionality provided in a new version of a video card driver that isn't provided in an older one.
