As long as the community requests them, I see no need to reduce them, even though they will be reduced by time.

I appreciate participating in events may not be everyone's cup of tea and some may prefer to enjoy normal game-play instead. With that in mind, rest assured the frequency of events will marginally decrease with time to minimise disturbance to normal game-play.
