Hello everyone,

As promised in my previous topic, we are finally ready to share the exciting changes with you for Lsrcr V10!

Right now, the server is currently locked and undergoing some maintenance to get everything ready for the big reveal. While we do this, take the time to read through this topic and prepare to see the latest updates.

As you've seen over the last few months there has been a number of changes ranging from the staff team, to rule updates and to gameplay and much more behind the scenes. You will likely have seen JohnCarer's topic - titled "The future to come".

Before we go any further, I will first preface this announcement by saying this; please keep in mind that the changes have been made to improve the overall gameplay and take the server back to its roots of a "Cops 'n Robbers" server and not a team deathmatch server. Over the last few years, we have seen a huge shift in traditional gameplay in the server and we realised we needed to do something to change this.

This major release of Lsrcr has been in the works for the last three months and has been a joint effort from the Developers, Beta Testers, Staff Team and a specially appointed taskforce that was created to help restore the Cops n' Robbers theme of Lsrcr.

Below is a very large list of changes and information you will need to be aware of before joining and enjoying the new update. The new version has been tested but as with anything, bugs may have slipped through the net - if you encounter any please do report them on the forums here.

Suggestions are always welcome but as before please refrain from creating reactionary topics to the new updates, we'd like everyone to adapt to the new changes before you create suggestions on gameplay.

As you may be aware, we are close to releasing the V10 update for our server. Before we do, I wanted to take a moment to explain some of the changes that are being made.

Ls-rcr has been an amazing journey over the past 15 years. It started as a personal project, but quickly grew into a vibrant community with members from all around the world. However, as time has passed, a lot has changed. Not only have the quality of players changed, but gaming as a whole has also evolved. Despite our best efforts, the server has been slowly dying, with an average of only 9 players online (with the exception of December).

We considered the option of closing the server, but there are so many great memories and awesome people that we have met through Ls-rcr. So, we decided to make some drastic changes in an effort to bring back the cops and robbers roleplay and attract new players to keep the server going. We want to create a more challenging and enjoyable gameplay experience, and to do that, we need to address some of the issues that have contributed to the server's decline.

One of the main challenges we have faced is the unhealthy balance in the server's economy. Over the past 15 years, we have tried several times to fix it, but there has still been too much money circulating. This has led to players being able to hold and earn millions of dollars within hours or even minutes, which is not sustainable. In order to create a healthier and more balanced economy, we have reached the difficult decision to reset all of the money on the server and adjust how much money players can make and spend. We understand that this may be frustrating for some of you, and we want to assure you that your current in-game stats (such as score or ranks) will not be affected by the reset. We believe that this is necessary for the long-term health and enjoyment of the server.

Another area that we are addressing is the role of groups on the server. We are extremely grateful for the group donations that have helped us to keep the server and everything we host online. However, in order to ensure that our changes will have a positive impact, we are being forced to make some changes to how groups work on the server. Some players have found that groups can be more of an annoying aspect of the game rather than something that is fun, due to overpowered or pay-to-win features that make the game unbalanced. By changing or removing certain group features, we hope to create a more challenging and enjoyable gameplay experience for all players. We will provide more information about this to the group owners shortly.

We recognize that these changes may not be popular or easy to understand at first, and we understand that change can be difficult. Please keep in mind that we are making these changes with the long-term survival and success of the server in mind. We are committed to improving the overall gameplay experience for all players, and sometimes that requires making tough decisions and trying new things through trial and error.

If you have any questions or concerns about the changes being made, we encourage you to leave feedback or ask questions on our Discord forum channel. We want to keep an open line of communication with our players and value your input.

Thank you for your support as we work to improve the server. We hope that these changes will bring back the enjoyment and excitement that made Ls-rcr such a special place for all of us.

Now, enough of the talking, onto the updates that you all care about...!

General changes

Gameplay changes:

New Civilian class introduced - Hacker
Vehicle surfing has been removed, you now do a roll-fall animation off the vehicle.
2-shot with the sawn-offs has been removed, you will first be warned, then frozen and then disarmed of your sawn-offs.
High powered vehicles have been removed from random spawns around the map
Jail time has been decreased by 50%.
Tag related restrictions have been removed (G without a driver, tow truck etc.)
Player owned businesses have been introduced and are purchased and then rented per month (viewtopic.php?f=88&t=120306).
Players can now /deposit (1-5000$) at any of the ATMs around the map.
There is now a probability of the vehicle alarm going off when you steal a random spawn vehicle, attracting attention to you.

Security / Administration changes:
*Please note that some of these changes were introduced before V10 was announced*

We have performed another global unban and lifted all bans placed! Note there are a few exceptions where players will remain banned.
There will be a global tag reset in the coming weeks where we have removed all player tags, this is for everyone and includes admins, moderators etc.
Assistant Senior Administrator rank has been removed.
Senior Administrator rank has been updated with elevated access.
Community Manager rank has been introduced.
Updated permission levels for many admin commands.
Lots of commands now check if the ID provided is an NPC.

Economy changes:

With a new economy comes a reset. All bank balances, private vaults, cash in group vaults etc. have been reset.
Death penalty has been increased and depends on the amount of money you have in your bank account. The amount is calculated based on how much money you have in your bank (750$ - 15000$ without insurance, 500$ - 5000$ with insurance).
Vehicle prices have been updated, most have seen a significant increase while boats have been decreased.

Salaries for Cops, SWAT and Army have been updated.
Players now lose the money in their pockets upon death.
Lottery prices (ticket price, payouts etc.) have been adjusted.
Hospital prices have been adjusted.
Flight prices have been adjusted.
24-7 prices have been adjusted.
Weapon prices in Ammu-Nation / Weapon Dealers have been adjusted.
Food prices have been adjusted when purchased from Burger Shot, Cluckin' Bell etc.
Prices of drugs have been adjusted.
Max ransom amount has been updated depending on kidnap rank.
Higher tier businesses have been introduced, this is a two person robbery.

Map changes :

Claude now has a map icon (Visible as a "C" on the minimap).
New Ammu-Nation has been added to El Corona (Just down from Idlewood Gas Station).

House pickups are now visible as three different colours (Red - Protected, Blue - For Sale & Green - Owned).
Added missing gas station checkpoint in Flint County.
New GPS feature added when you place a map marker down.

Group changes :

Command /greset has been removed.
Packet / Kit commands have been removed.
Drug, item and weapon depots have been removed.
Chainsaw and commands that give a wanted level have been removed.
Group vehicles now take 15 minutes to respawn if they are destroyed.
Players may now only be a member of one LEO group and one civilian group.
Airdrops have been removed from groups due to them no longer having a drug depot.
Glen Park luxury apartments have been removed and will be replaced with group floors - intended to be used as offices.

Other changes:

New welcome video present when a new player joins, starter bonus added so players can start out.
New command has been added for /previousnames (/oldnames) to mirror the previous names functionality on a UCP profile page.
New command /donators introduced to show online donators.
Claude will now require 250 score and 250 rob rank before players can rob the bank.
Players will be unable to pick a money bag up in the bank without 250 rob rank.
Players will be unable to rob a money bag from another player unless they have over 250 rob rank.
Random choice of intro music will now play upon a player connecting to the server.
New command /donationpoints (/dps) has been added.
New command /lastpms has been added to show the last 5 PMs sent to you.
New command /changelog has been added to show the changes made to the script.

Vehicle updates:

New custom map at Grotti Showroom (see the spoiler for a sneak peak!)

New car purchase menu has been added for all vehicle showrooms including vehicle images.
Command for /tune has been removed.
Fuel system is now mandatory and no longer part of /rpmode - you can refuel at any gas station.
Players now receive a wanted level if they steal a random-spawn car while being near an LEO.
Model of Pizza bikes has been updated to actual pizza bikes and not the Fagio.
Prices of all vehicles have been adjusted to reflect the newly balanced economy - see spoiler for prices

Police:

Police pay check adjusted to 2400$
LEO checkpoint at Los Santos International (LSA) has been removed.

SWAT:

Civilian Changes

New Skill - Hacker:

Ability to hack another players vehicle with a hacking kit (purchasable from the Black Market).
The the vehicle hacking kit is also obtainable through /dweap > Black Market items.

Bounty Hunters:

Bounty hunters no longer receive free weapons from LEO checkpoints.

Drug Dealers:

Drug dealers no longer spawn with free drugs.
Only drug dealers can purchase drugs from the drug houses.
Drug dealers must purchase drugs before selling them to other players.

Website Updates:

Group limits added to website (One LEO / One civilian group).
Vortex can no longer be purchased from the store.
Fixed an issue with the website navbar cluttering the screen.
Top 25 list has been added for collectibles.

Bug fixes:

Players no longer receive packets while in events.
Attachments dialog showing money text draw has been fixed.
Fixed a bug where players are unable to damage the hacker class.
Fixed a bug where house vehicles would still be locked on spawn.
Fixed a bug where players were still taking damage whilst being cuffed.
Resolved an issue with police lights not deleting properly when a vehicle is destroyed.
Fixed an issue where weapons given after death by explosion were incorrect.
Resolved an issue with the health-bar being visible on /tutorial
Fixed an issue when a vehicle dies and fixed a vehicle check for bistro and mechanic classes.
Fake kill auto-ban bug has been resolved.
Fixed an issue with a SQL query when players connect.
Fixed an issue on the website where people were able to extend previous vortex donations.
