GROUP TURFS Territory Control • Group Wars • Weekly Rewards
WHAT ARE TURFS
Turfs are special areas around Los Santos that groups can fight over and own.
Think of turfs like "territory" or "land" for your group.
If your group owns a turf:
Your group controls that area
Enemy groups can attack it
Your group earns rewards
NPC guards protect the area
Every turf is shown on the minimap.
Turf Colors:
Grey - Nobody owns the turf
Red - Turf war currently happening
Group Color - Turf belongs to a group
Every turf contains:
1 Turf Boss NPC
Up to 3 Turf Guard NPCs
The Turf Boss is used to START the turf war. The Turf Guards protect owned turfs from enemies.
WHY SHOULD YOUR GROUP CAPTURE TURFS
Owning turfs gives your group many benefits.
More Territory
Your group controls more parts of Los Santos.
Weekly Leaderboard Progress
The best groups compete to become #1 every week.
Money Rewards
Winning turf wars gives money to your members.
Protection
NPC guards defend your turf automatically.
The more turfs your group controls, the stronger and more respected your group becomes.
GROUP STATISTICS & LEADERBOARD
Your group earns statistics by participating in turf wars. These stats are tracked automatically:
Captures
How many turfs your group successfully captured.
Defenses
How many enemy attacks your group successfully defended against.
Turf Kills
How many enemy players your group killed inside turf zones.
Control Index
A calculated percentage that shows how dominant your group is in turf wars.
What is Control Index?
Control Index is your group's overall "power score". The better your group performs in turf wars, the higher your Control Index becomes. You do NOT need to calculate it manually - the server handles everything automatically.
Higher Control Index = Higher rank on the leaderboard.
/gturfs
Shows the top 6 groups with the highest Control Index in-game.
REQUIREMENTS TO START A TURF WAR
A turf war can ONLY start if:
The turf is not already under attack
The turf is not on cooldown
Your group is not on cooldown
You are inside the turf zone
At least 2 group members are inside the zone
If any requirement is missing, the turf war will not begin.
HOW TO START A TURF WAR
Starting a turf war is simple.
Step-by-step:
Enter the turf with your group
Go near the Turf Boss NPC
Aim to rob the Turf Boss for 7 seconds
If all requirements are met, the turf war starts
Once started:
The turf flashes between RED and the turf owner group color on the minimap.
A server announcement appears
The 5-minute battle begins
HOW TO WIN A TURF WAR
To capture the turf, your group must hold the turf for 5 minutes.
That means:
Qualified attackers must stay alive
Your group must keep enough members inside the zone
Enemies must be pushed out or killed
If your group survives for the full timer:
The turf becomes yours
Your group color appears on the map
NPC guards become assigned to your group
Rewards are paid instantly
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE
This is VERY important. Only players who are INSIDE the turf when the war STARTS become QUALIFIED ATTACKERS
What does this mean?
Only qualified attackers:
Count toward the turf war
Can help capture the turf
Can prevent the attack from failing
Late arrivals do NOT count.
Example:
4 players start the turf war
10 more friends arrive later
Those 10 players cannot officially join the attack
This exists to stop infinite reinforcements and keep fights fair.
HOW TURF ATTACKS FAIL
A turf war instantly fails if:
No qualified attackers remain inside the turf
There are 0 qualified non-AFK attackers inside the turf
If the attack fails:
The original owner keeps the turf
The attacking group receives a cooldown
Important requirement:
At least 2 players are required to start a turf attack
At least 1 qualified non-AFK attacker is required to successfully hold and win the turf
Qualified attackers are expected to stay inside the turf zone at all times.
If you leave the turf zone:
You will receive a 10-second warning to return
If you remain outside the turf for longer than 10 seconds, you will be removed and ignored from the turf war
Once removed, you will no longer count as a qualified attacker
This functions the same way as dying during the turf war
This prevents players from abusing the system by constantly running away.
COMBAT RULES
During active turf wars:
Allowed:
PvP combat
Killing enemy group members
Entering vehicles inside the turf
Defending your territory
NOT Allowed:
Entering houses
Entering businesses
Entering group interiors
These rules exist to keep fights fair and prevent exploits. This is enforced server-side, meaning the script automatically handles and blocks these actions during active turf wars.
WANTED SYSTEM
Starting a turf war does NOT automatically give wanted level.
Wanted level is ONLY given for:
Killing enemy players
Successfully winning a turf
Failing a turf attack
This means:
You can start a turf peacefully
But fighting and consequences still matter
TURF REWARDS
Winning a turf rewards your group instantly.
BASE REWARD
Every successful turf capture starts with a base payout of $1,500
BONUS REWARD
You earn an additional $2,000 for every enemy player online during the attack
WHO RECEIVES THE MONEY?
The reward is paid instantly to:
All online group members
Players who are fully spawned into the game
REWARD COOLDOWN
To prevent abuse, players may only receive up to $10,000 rewards every 8 HOURS
WEEKLY GROUP REWARD
Every week, the best turf group on the server receives a huge reward:
At the end of each week, the #1 ranked group with the highest Control Index on the leaderboard receives a bonus reward of $1,500,000. The reward is deposited directly into the group vault.
This means turf wars are not only about fighting - they are about building your group's reputation, power, and influence across Los Santos. The group that performs the best each week will earn the weekly reward and establish itself as the top group on the server.
COOLDOWNS
Cooldowns exist to prevent nonstop spam attacks and to keep turf wars fair and organized.
TURF COOLDOWN
After a turf is successfully captured:
15 minutes cooldown
The turf cannot be attacked again during this time
This gives the owning group time to regroup and prepare defenses.
GROUP ATTACK COOLDOWN
After your group starts or finishes a turf war (win or lose):
5 minutes cooldown
Your group cannot start another turf attack during this time
This prevents constant back-to-back attacks and keeps battles balanced.
TURF GUARDS
Owned turfs are protected by NPC guards.
What do guards do?
Attack enemy criminal groups entering the turf
Protect the owners automatically
Stop attacking when enemies leave
Guards help defend your territory even when group members are offline.
POLICE & LAW ENFORCEMENT
Police may respond to wanted criminals during turf wars. However, some commands are disabled to keep turf wars balanced.
Police cannot use:
/cuff
/taze
Criminals cannot use:
/sh
/stun
OTHER NOTES
Turfs are meant to create:
Organized group wars
Territory battles
Competition between criminal groups
Long-term rivalry
Turfs are NOT designed to turn the server into nonstop deathmatch.
Winning requires:
Teamwork
Planning
Defense
Communication
Active members
The strongest and smartest groups will control Los Santos and dominate the weekly leaderboard.
At release, the Turf system will initially be available to the following groups:
Blackouts
Vic's Gang
TGOLS
VLA
Renegades
Hooligans
The system is currently still being stress-tested and monitored, so we are starting with a smaller number of groups first.
These groups were selected based on their activity, consistency, and engagement on the server.
Additional groups may be added later on as the system expands. Groups added in the future will be required to donate for a group vault beforehand.
