Title.

SMOTM votes aren't being taken serious. I know some ex-fellow members left the SWAT team because it isn't like what it used to be. I am beginning to agree with them and I'm losing my hopes aswell (not to mention getting tired and demotivated). I've been noticing this from January till now (March). I saw users vote on members who joined that month or worse than that, a week. I saw users vote on members that hops in skin like once in a month. How can a 3 day SWAT member (This is based on recent March SMOTM) can achieve a vote while I know long-time members who NEVER or maybe once and work their butt off to achieve this particular title. It's completely ridiculous. I never, ever voted for Sheen or Syshad in SMOTM and they are my siblings, because if they REALLY are active 24/7 I get judged that I voted for them because of build up friendship.

I understand but really? How can anyone let something like a mid ranked SWAT member vote for a member that has been in the team for 3 days? Haven't this guy learned anything throughout his experience as a SWAT member? (This is based on recent March SMOTM)

You're actually supposed to vote for people you like, your friends, your role models. Dimitrije voted for his friend and that's alright, that's what everybody is supposed to do. SWAT is all about teamwork and people are supposed to work together and be friends with each other
I understand,ok, he voted for his friend. For gods sake the guy joined 3 days ago.(This is based on recent March SMOTM) If it was the beginning of a month,I would let it slip. Whenever I vote for SMOTM i always consider; attitude, friendliness, helpfulness, activity, skills and not because he is my personal friend. Like i said in the beginning,I never even voted for either Sheen or Syshad. There is a huge difference between a friendly attitude and a friend.

That's really it,share your thoughts.

It's true that you can vote for your friends, because if someone has bad attitude, he won't be your friend; but yeah, he just joined, he shouldn't be nominated for SMOTM, in my opinion. Three days are nothing in compare of thirty days.

I understand what your point is, I've always fought for justice and fair votes. But when you're actually a Commander you can't just preach ideas, you have to make them work. Now tell me, realistically, do you think there is a way to make sure all regular SWAT members vote objectively and fair? Of course not, there will be always some unfairness, you can't avoid it, we're all human in the end. You could make voting rules but that would only complicates things and it would be a pain in the ass to enforce them.

So how did I solve this problem?

I wanted to have an award for the most skilled, active, helpful, loyal... member but I couldn't let regular members vote since they could be unfair. That's why I restricted voting only for WO+ ranks which can be trusted much more and have way more experience. I believe WO+ ranks provide decently objective votes and that the 1SG system is fair. The ideal system you're dreaming of already exists, it's the 1SG award, SMOTM is something else.

But I also wanted to include regulars, make them vote for something. Teamwork is very important and SWAT members need to be close to each other. If everybody is friendly and close to other people in the team fights won't happen so often and everybody will be happier. It's much more enjoyable to play with a group of friendly people, it just makes SWAT a better place. I combined those two and made the SMOTM award. People vote for their friends, people who they like in the team. You should be rewarded if you can manage to be a friendly and popular person, you help the team so much and you deserve a vote. You shouldn't really look at skills or activity, SMOTM is all about friendliness and how much you like the person. It should pay off to be a team player, that's what SWAT is about.

To sum it up, 1SG is the best player of the month, SMOTM is the most popular and liked player of the month.

Its just a tittle (for a month), SWAT is about working as a team. Dont let a vote ruin your experiences.

I'm new in the SWAT team, i don't have much experience or knowledge on the SMOTM and i agree with this:

How this can be possible?

I believe this somehow fix the problem, but how about if the most recent players were friendly even before get Accepted on the Team?
This increarase their chances to be selected for the most popular Swat member, i would like give my opinion:

- Most recent players on the SWAT team cannot be nominated for the SMOTM.
Otherwise:
- Only [PFC]+ can be nominated for the SMOTM.
or atleast:
- Most recent players on the SWAT team cannot be nomitaded for the SMOTM, unless his/her time on SWAT has reached 18-25 days (after he/she joined the team, not neccesarily the time on-skin).

I know some players are just searching for Achievements and/or higher ranks (Mostly of the times is like this), otherwise they (i) just search fun, but once you reach a higher rank it feels good, make yourself proud reaching another Objective, i believe we all joined for fun but what makes the Official Factions more funny is 'friendly fight' (this can became a problem without rules or norms, would be great suggesting some) to reach a Rank, i mean if i play around 5 years (2-5 hours per day and using the SWAT skin all the day) and i still [PVT], then someone else who joined 1 month ago and plays just 1 hour per day reachs the [PFC]+ rank(s) [No examples/indirect persons involved on this, just a 'fictional' situation), won't be fun anymore, maybe i'll have respect or something else for being in the team for so long time, but at the same time, makes me sad, i'm putting effort to get promoted and feel glad of myself when i receive the opposite, can't feel glad nor being promoted.

Thanks for the time reading this.

@Dani, nobody will be promoted if he wasn't/isn't active in skin. We got a great method how to follow members activity.

I don't know how's the SWAT promotion system, but the funny thing, Players are complaining that kind of situations, they say they are 'active' in skin but they don't get promoted (no names involved).
