Hi,
I need your guys help, my laptop has been heavily infected by a virus. After getting my new HDD in i re-installed windows, i runned all my setups and windows updates but i forgot my AVG. now i am infected by a heavy virus.
This are the thing i see:
  • random programs installed
  • ads on google (never had those before)
  • getting re-directed to random pages in Chrome
  • my USB folders are hidden and replaced by shortcuts
  • other shit
I turned my wifi antenna off after the first symptoms and installed AVG, now i removed 64 viruses and everything is solved except one: the USB shortcuts! After research i found out its a 'shortcut virus', the shortcuts are exe files that install malware and shit. AVG cant vind anything but it still apears (i delete my crap and made the folders non-hidden again),they keep turning hidden. AVG only finds 'LNK'. Now i am 18 scans on my whole system and USB later and still nothing.

Who has a solution? The usb is really important to me as almost all my important files are on it!
  • i ran 18 scans with AVG
  • iObit Malware Fighter 3.2 is scanning now
  • advanced system care couldn't find anything
Who has a solution? An antivirus program? Or else?
Thank you

I'd go use the external HDD, save inside the HDD important files and go for a nice Windows restart.
My solution to the problem

yeah but don't add anything from downloads folder or that you've been downloading recently, just some like photos of you in real life, your family and that stuff for example. Not games, programs and such... they are easy to find and download.

If this not work try to install Microsoft Security Essentials.
