Because not everyone wants to have to check through there computer for melware, also there are rare cases that some forms of melware will disguise itself as regular programming, if that happens it has the potential to cause many issues later on down the road if left unchecked. A lot of Free virus software don't have melware detection software because it's a feature you'd normally have to pay for, if you want the free stuff you have to put those add ons yourself.

Nowadays crack of any antivirus is not possible . They will block it when connect to internet. So I recommend you to use Kaspersky series and enjoy one-month trial activation from each series. Start from Kaspersky 2017. :P

I havent had any antivirus (besides windows defender) installed in years and I cant remember encountering a virus or malware of any sort. I rellay cant see the need for any additional antivirus. I could live even without firewall.
