Kali is best used on Live USB. It's not like you're gonna install it as your primary OS since it runs as root all the time, which is dangerous.

I'm only going to try it in a VM (Not going to use virtualbox as I don't really like it)

If I end up liking it I might make the switch to Linux for a while although I'm not too sure

Installing it instead of running it as a Live OS:

Be careful not to get addicted cracking nearby Wi-fi's :D
