Hello fellow S.W.A.T members,

I'm typing this message right now not to be an ass but to enforce the rules that are to be enforced. I've seen numerous votes on every application (including my own and many new additions to the team) in which Privates are voting on applications. I in fact admit to the mistake on voting on one single application without being aware of the subject that I am about to discuss. There were cases, just like mine but more repetitive (every single app posted) in which members that were Privates (on some cases voting right after they get accepted) for an applicant. In regards to voting, there are 2 documents or texts which you must read. I'll put links to them below as well as a brief description of what they talk about and details about it.

 • The first point I will address is why voting as a Private is not allowed. It is pretty simple really: it's to ensure that members who already have some current experience as a SWAT member to give feedback on an applicant. There's no point allowing someone who is "fresh" to give his opinion about an applicant since he is not considered experienced enough.
 • Second of all, . While all of the members follow it, I often find vague reasons as to why the applicant is suited to join the faction. A vote is more important that some of you may think, it allows not only the SWAT staff team but also your fellow members to see positive/negative points about someone that they may not be necessarily aware of. Please make sure to at least make out a well developed paragraph or so on each of the positive/negative points about an applicant.
 • Finally, , a topic that I myself admit not to have read before since I did commit that mistake about voting as a Private. It contains useful information as to what criteria needs to be examined such as activity, skills, etc. and gives you some parameters to measure the applicants in those areas. This should also help with my previous point on "empty" or "vague" evaluations of an applicant.
 •
I've posted this in SWAT's starting page so that everyone can see it, hopefully it can get pinned so that every member reads it and refrains from committing a mistake that I even did myself. If you are someone from a high position in SWAT and are able to lock/pin this topic, please do so. If there are any mistakes/incoherence's in what I'm saying, please correct those 2 topics since that is my only source of information. Also, feel free to move this to a correct place if it needs to be moved, but please make it somewhere where everyone will read it.

May we represent SWAT like it needs to be represented.

what if someone had past experiences, left the team and came back to it and started as PVT? take me as an example, I've been in swat too many times and I'm a PVT right now, does that mean i have no experience? kappa

there's absolutely nothing wrong with a PVT posting this IMO. he's only trying to get the faction better after all

kudos to you, rally.

Its really informative post for new as well as the old players, since most of us haven't read the voting guide topic after all.
But please note that voting as Private (PVT) rank is allowed (rules were updated), but one must not vote without having actual knowledge about the applicants skills, attitude, behaviour etc. For that, Privates shouldn't vote because they are new and they don't have much knowledge about the SWAT itself and regarding the applicants that could improve SWAT's gameplay experience in future.

Thanks for updating that topic

While I do appreciate you trying to make a smart or "bait" comment, this type of mentality is what has SWAT as low as it is. The mentality of "meh, not my job not gonna bother", the mentality of "meh, why bother explaining in detail why I think someone should/shouldn't join the faction", the mentality of "meh, why should I improve if I'm already in swat which means I am the best". Things like this mentality along with immaturity, excessive whining/complaining, a constant search for gameplay based only on achievements and ranks, and an overall lack of competence considering what SWAT standards should be are the reason we are where we are. Forgive me for trying to help get SWAT out of this mud.

You do make a point, but there's something you're not realizing. The idea behind you leaving and coming back is that you come back to start from scratch. You don't get to come back with your older rank, so why should you bear the authority that it had before?

Glad someone gets what I'm really trying to do instead of seeing it as either attention seeking or just spam all together. If I wanted to spam, I would put useless replies to applications, like some of us sadly do..
