I was just wondering what the rest of you (non-Londoners) think of what's happening in my city. I've always been proud to be a Londoner but today, I feel ashamed. Ugh..

It goes a little something like this.
Police shot a dude dead in Tottenham (North London). First they said he was armed and shot at officers, then it turns out not only did he not have a gun, the bullet that was fired at the officer was police-issued.

A peaceful protest happened and, word on the street is, at some point an officer attacked a 16 year old girl, which sparked the initial riots in Tottenham.

It then spread to Enfield, Wood Green and other areas of London like Brixton, Clapham, Peckham (South London) that aren't even close to Tottenham.
People my age and younger have been breaking into shops, stealing TVs, phones, shoes, glasses, etc, mugging people, setting cars, shops and houses on fire and hurling things at riot police. So it's total lawlessness and no one's rioting "for" the young man who was shot; it's just opportunists looking for free stuff.
Apparently it spread to Leeds and Birmingham too (not even in London).

Fucking Birmingham is just as bad tonight. This shit is pissing me off.

I agree with your last statement, it does appear that the whole cause behind the initial rioting has been forgotten and now it's just an excuse.

Shame really, those shops that people own have been ruined. Feel sorry for you guys and stay safe.

I haven't been watching the news lately, why are these dumbfuck pricks doing this? This is just like G20 in Canada, or when Vancouver lost the hockey game, all in which retarded individuals who deserve to get shot did stupid things.

I believe this is some of those things that people tend to keep inside of them and it grows throughout the years and eventually ... this happens. I just wish you stay safe, all of you that might be affected by this in any way. Take care.
