Unfortunately, SA-MP DDoS attacks aren't something that you can completely prevent, if someone wants to throw enough power at you, you'll stand no chance against the attack. However, using a trust-worthy host provider like you've mentioned, can only help reduce the risk of an attack, not stop it completely. Nevertheless, I'm sure the seniors are already trying to work on a solution for this, so I wouldn't want to worry too much.

To put it in simple terms, as I've been told, "they're exploiting a samp vulnerability".
