No the answer was not found and it was not very satisfying, you're saying god just was there, always before everything else was there, and then he just suddenly made everything? That makes as much sense as your water on a painting story.

God creates WHATEVER he wants. He has His own will. There was a divine hadith (talk) that said (this hadith is not approved 100%):
"I was a hidden treasure, and I wanted to be known, so I created the creation".

What I meant to say was, you are created, it does not mean that your creator was created. Because you are a creation of the creator who made the concept creation itself. Principles of being created from something does not apply on the creator (like the water and the paint example). He is not supposed to melt because he's not like the painting.

Okay I get your point now but I still don't think it makes any sense if someone just is there without being made, I don't think that the fact that big bang came out of no where makes sense either but I think what happened after the bang makes more sense than what happens in the bibles story.

What. God made the sense itself. He put the rules and He was not created. If big bang theory is realistic (it probably is), God has created it. In a very strict way! And listen what God said in Qur'an about what we say about him, we didn't see him and we're saying things about him:

*
O mankind, eat from whatever is on earth [that is] lawful and good and do not follow the footsteps of Satan. Indeed, he is to you a clear enemy.{168} He only orders you to evil and immorality and to say about Allah what you do not know.{169} *

Al Baqarah (The Cow), verse 168 and 169.
