I have no clear idea what the server has become, I've read loads of forum posts and they all tend to point to opposition to recent changes, I can't log on to the server because I don't have the equipment, anywho

In my opinion, the LSRCR formula is a winning one. It is flawed, sure, I've seen recent posts by people saying the server isn't kind to newbies nowadays, but it never was, whenever I was bored 10 years ago as a LEO or as an army member I'd make the trip to LV and I'd clean it out, I'd obliterate the 5 newbies who chose to spawn in LV, it was always the survival of the most alert. The server was always cut-throat, you rob your way to 500k just to have it all robbed away, at least that was my experience

The difference is, in my opinion, a lack of controversy:

In (to me) the first golden age of LSRCR, back in 2010: the server was stable, we had so much going on, 0 events, 0 forced things happening, but we were happy: we had players that would make you want to be online just because they were online, the server's offering's didn't even matter. Every night was a movie, every night something interesting would happen, and if you weren't online you were missing out. Something insane would happen every night. Briefcases, some insane controversial insta-cuff arrest, DM accusations, a well known cheater coming back to grief the server just for Ribsey or Johnson to ban them. It was perfect, almost like a reality TV show, you had to be there to experience the full hype. It was the ideal harmony between a (honestly) lackluster offering from the server, as gameplay, and the insane storylines that we (as players) told and made it perfect

Then before you know it, the server had just moved to a global GTA SA map, we were in a very dire situation where the server might not be able to stay online, and it was no longer just Los Santos, it was to be San Andreas RCR. With all the hype of the dead cops in SF, all the hype of the new shops to be robbed in LV. It was probably the greatest, riskiest, and most expansive update in LSRCR history. The server experienced a boom right after, and then dipped right back to average numbers. Even before the dreaded update, all the OG's were there, apprehensive but looking forward to the next step.

Then, the game died. You tried too hard and it was for nothing.

Gameplay changes can come a long way when done right, but if you ask me, as a player from 2008, I honestly don't remember the gameplay changes. Sure, I remember the short-lived 2 weeks of gamebreaking deagle machine gun from the passenger seat of a sultan, but what truly resonates, was the controversy behind the fight club, the daily reports from standing members of the community against other standing members of the community, it was pure chaos, it was unc3n reporting dr dub, it was pulse's ban and his rage, it was the pure animosity between SWAT and the army at that time.. I don't remember the changelog, I remember the moments we had as a community, and I think from around 2017-2018 the server has been focused around improving gameplay..

We are playing a game from 2004, I might speak for myself when I say I don't want gameplay upgrades, once again I say.. LSRCR had a winning formula.. force antagonists and protagonists.. I know Energ doesnt like me and he has suspended me for it like 8 years ago but this is what the server needs.. its too late for it now, but let controversy roam

Fuck the gameplay. Bring back the fight club and 2-shot. Watch us bleed back into the fight. Bring back the OG rules. You'd be surprised how many of us are ready

Hey bro, I hope you remember me.

Before anyone reads this, please know that this is NOT a Hate Speech, this is just my feelings/emotion as I've learned a lot from this community and I can't stand the fact that its dying.

I don't think its that simple, you see, back in the day, we had no other games to play, we had no PUBG, COD Warzone etc and other online games like online COD/Battlefield games were also not played that much. Also, GTA IV/V had ultra bugs in online mode. The issue is, GTA SA is an old game as we all know, players require innovation which unfortunately GTA SA lacks. It really doesn't matter if the Server management decide to just go back to 2k10 version including rules, server will not get its players back. The only way to save the community is, at least in my eyes, is to evolve, is to adapt the new games and move forward. If someone has any doubts just answer me this, why don't Energ and his brother(s) don't play anymore? All old players know that Energ used to play with us. Why don't the higher management of the server doesn't play anymore? If the answer is "they are busy with real life issues" then please, let me tell you that this is a LIE as no one is busy 24/7 and barely has any time to play. I can say this as I'm also an old player, I barely had time to play but whenever I was free, even for a few hours, I would play other games and still remember the time of playing GTA SA on Lsrcr, but I won't join ingame due to the fact as we barely had any innovation. Everything is/was old, I played in every faction(specially when it was running at its best version). There is a lot to say but I won't mention everything.

Mark my words, if Lsrcr doesn't upgrade, it will continue on the path of losing its player base, eventually dying. And if someone says its too hard to upgrade, then my friend, its the end of the road.
