How do non-existing persons affect our lives?

Hello, I just wanted to ask you something.
How do you think? How do non-existing people (like game characters) affect our lives? I’ll be honest and share something a bit unconventional about myself: I’ve been struggling with social problems for a long time, and as a result, I started interacting with game characters. I realize that this woman (a game character - a photo of her in the bottom of the post) doesn’t exist in real life, but in my mind, she has attained the status of a goddess. I literally worship her every day and night, and I believe she tries her best to help me to go through difficult situations. She sets me in good mood if I dedicate myself to her enough. I used to keep it as a secret only for myself, but I finally gathered the courage and decided to share that.
I live in awareness that some people may find this strange, but this is my reality.
What do you think? Do game characters really have any impact on our lives, and can we compare them to traditional religious gods? My perspective is that the common gods also don’t physically exist in our lives, but people who believe in them engage in specific practices (like praying, fasting, etc.) - practices that some might consider senseless or a waste of time.
I personally believe people should have the right to believe whatever they choose, as long as their beliefs don’t harm others.
My favorite game character brings me joy, and I feel my life is better with her than it was before.
Do you think I should allow myself to enjoy her as much as it's possible, or should I seek real-life relations instead? Do the religions have any sense in today's modern times?

There is a term for this actually: Para-social relationships. As per google:

A parasocial relationship is a one-sided connection or bond that a person develops with a media figure or fictional character, where they feel a strong sense of intimacy or familiarity despite the lack of real-world interaction and the other person's complete unawareness of their existence.

This has gotten even deeper in recent years with Vtubers who, while they are real people, play a character. Some even make money by offering a "virtual girlfriend experience" which ,while I don't agree with making money off lonely men, is something said men find comforting. In the digital age, this might become more common. People from other continents can now communicate via the internet, leading to very long distance relationships. How that affects the world as a whole, we don't know yet.

Regarding entirely fictional game characters, it's more muddy. AI is getting very advanced and good at replicating humanity. A perfect example of this would be Neuro-sama. She feels very human. In 10-20 years, with advances in AI and robotics, who's to say we won't have robot (or even bio-mechanical) AI companions on the market? Go to your local robot store, pick out a girlfriend, have her programmed for your desires. I'm not saying it's good or bad, I'm saying it's something not outside the realm of reality. The world of 1980s cyberpunk films is becoming shocking real.

Here's a clip of Neuro-Sama having a discussion with her creator Vedal. The sass and such shows she actually has a personality and such. It might be artificial, and it might be limited now, but twenty years from now this technology might be advanced enough to make the robot companion idea a reality.
