It can come in handy in many unexpected/difficult situations, so therefore SOC will stay so we know our members how is their speed of commands level.
I don't use commands as I think it's kind of a 'bitch' move but other army recruits use them, either to arrest harder-to-kill criminals or people who keep interior-hopping.
As for the test, it's a good way to determine if an applicant is active as a LEO or not.
