Introduction__________________________________________________________________________________________________Hello guys and welcome to yet another topic by yours truly. I was originally going to make this topic only for swat or at least only in the swat subforum section, but since no one ever replies to any of my topics there, I decided to make it general and put it in the “guide” section of the forum. The reason behind this topic’s existence is pretty simple: there’s a lot of leo’s that are unaware of how to deal with certain scenarios on their own.
With that said, I think it is important that I also state the following: Some scenarios just cannot be solved by one person only. Even when an officer arrests 3 people by himself, like it has happened to me a number of times, he always has support from fellow officers putting in pressure on the criminals. This however should not discourage you from attempting to deal with these on your own.
Thread's layout explanation__________________________________________________________________________________________________In this topic I will address a number of scenarios that can be encountered as a law enforcement officer. The first options on how to deal with said scenario will try to apply to any type of leo, and some more specific solutions for let’s say swat/army will be noted as well.
Most of the concepts do apply across all three though, so even if you’re not in a specific section I’d suggest reading the entire thing. Also, this will be long just like any other detailed guide should be. If you were expecting a topic with less than 2 sentences, I’m sorry to disappoint you.
Know your surroundings__________________________________________________________________________________________________Important for both ends of the player spectrum. Cops and robbers features a “cat and mouse” gameplay for the most part, so it is important that you are always on the lookout for what might happen before it does actually happen. Try to get in your foe’s head and think what he will try to do next, for it will simplify a chase much, much more. You should try to learn where people like to go, or what they like to do, or how they like to do it. We tend to be predictable when put under pressure, so we like to head to a “safe environment” to escape.
Try to learn where each player type likes to go or do so that you can beat them to it and emerge victorious from the encounter. This also includes knowing when to take cover and when to come out from it. When and how to “lure” players into getting close and then arresting or killing them. Overall, this could be added into a player variable of “LEO IQ”, basically the intelligence to recognize specific scenarios and carry out the best solution in the shortest time possible.
Dealing with shocks/variations__________________________________________________________________________________________________Shocks can sometimes be annoying for law enforcement, just like taze can be annoying for criminals. However, just how we are exposed as we /taze, criminals are exposed when they /shock. Yes I am aware that they can shorten it to /sh but they still need to either type or paste it with a specific id.
That leaves them exposed for a 1-2 second frame. This is where your speed of commands should kick in and realize from when a player stands still or moves away to either type or pre-type /sh. Keep an eye on the main chat to see what criminals are carrying shocks as they taze other law enforcement, since this will be useful in determining your approach. Here’s how you can do so:

Dealing with bikes__________________________________________________________________________________________________Bikes can be annoying at times as well since criminals can (and will) use the up arrow bug to gain more speed. They can also use the bikes to perform "stunts" and go out of reach of people who are not either riding a bike like theirs or just don't know how to perform the stunt.
However, this vehicle has weaknesses. First of all, it has only 2 wheels instead of 4. Shooting the back/front wheel will cause a much more significant impact than popping a car's wheel. Second of all, it has HP and the rider is very exposed to damage. So here's how you should deal with them:

Dealing with bicycles__________________________________________________________________________________________________A scenario which is unnecesarily filtered by many law enforcement as "overpowered" or simply "too difficult". Nonsense. While these bicycles do not share some of the drawbacks of bikes themselves, they do not share some of the advantages of them.
They cannot have a similar straight down speed and will require more effort from the player to maintain a good speed. Also, they can jump, but everything that goes up must go down. Time your movements based on this. This is how you should proceed:

Dealing with vortex__________________________________________________________________________________________________Yes, the hovercraft that was completely ignored in Singleplayer but is now adored in Multiplayer. It's "aimbot" makes it seamingly impossible to get some shots or even ride for cover before you are dead.
It has a lot of drawbacks though, such as slow speed, slow rotation speed, and overall "clumsy" handling. This is how you should proceed:

Dealing with rooftop simulators__________________________________________________________________________________________________We all know those players. They like to go on roofs and just camp the shit out of them. They are easy to deal with though, since most of the time they either go there with a bmx or with a heli. Here's how you can deal with them:

Dealing with a single criminal__________________________________________________________________________________________________This is rather simple to be honest. 1v1 driving scenario, in many ways the person who is being chased has the advantage, but he also has the most pressure. Since driving quality is pretty much as low as the floor, it shouldn't be difficult tackling a 1v1 situation. Here's some ideas on how to approach it:

Dealing with a team of criminals__________________________________________________________________________________________________An officer will be at a disadvantage, at least in paper, 10 out of 10 times. Quantity is important, but quality is even more important. LEO IQ comes into play here, if you are smart in how you devise your plan and approach, you can get away with beating teams of criminals by yourself in either 1 wave or 2+ waves. Here's how you should approach this:

Being part of a team__________________________________________________________________________________________________Being a part of a team is nice, being a part of a team is good. I'm always the first to say that all LEO's should act as one team, and I strongly believe that to be the case. Just like in any team, there are specific roles to be held. I will list them below and give a description along with some tips for them.
ROLES IN A TEAMAs a final note of being a team member, I think it's important to note that you should always help others improve and not ignore people who struggle at first.Spoiler: show
You started from scratch too, so don't forget where you came from, and especially don't think that where you are is the top. I see lots of players thinking that they are king of the hill, and this is not true.
Yes I do this a lot, but as an obvious joke. I am not a narcissist despite what most of you may believe.
Conclusion__________________________________________________________________________________________________Being a law enforcement officer is fun, rewarding and challenging. With these tips, you should be able to improve drastically in a short amount of time.
Remember that the first objective of this game is fun, just like any other game. But always remember that fun increases exponentially as you become better at something.
I'd like to thank Robin for his tutorial on BBCode as well, I've used some concepts in several threads now and I think it's worth a mention. It allows me to keep my topics clean and aesthetic.
I'd advise you all to check it out . Also, check out SWAT's subforum , and Army's subforum .
Enjoy being top class,
Officer rally3.
