It's crazy to see such a suggestion being made. The SWAT Shock Bomb was nerfed, yet it is still overpowered. It wasn't fully nerfed, but it did receive a cooldown. In my opinion, that's not too bad either, considering there are no rules on its usage and it can be used in almost any scenario at any time.

We also have other useful perks, not to forget /swvm, /smh and drone, and /swclimb. I don't know what more y'all need, but let's be honest and speak facts, the SWAT Bomb is already an overpowered perk, yet you're requesting to buff it even more.

Speaking from both SWAT and Criminal perspectives, I am certain it doesn't need any buffs and is totally fair now. Considering SWAT is active again with UNIT L26, maybe we actually need to practice real tactics instead of looking for perks to make things easier.
Honestly, my bad for expecting a healthier discussion here instead of instantly hearing “it’s overpowered” without really addressing the actual point of the suggestion

I already considered both sides before making this thread and I’m not even asking for the SWAT Shock Bomb to be buffed. If anything, I literally suggested adding restrictions to it like preventing repeated usage on the same criminal or stopping multiple SWAT members from stacking it on one person repeatedly

As for the “other useful perks” argument like /swvm, /smh, drone, or /swclimb, sure those exist, but realistically most of them don’t really help much in heavily outnumbered situations. /swvm is probably the only genuinely impactful one because of tire fixing, but even then your tires can just get popped again immediately

And I don’t really get the “practice tactics” argument either, because SWAT gameplay is usually just constant close range fights where you’re trying to /taze, /cuff and /drag while their teammates are trying to jack you, break your car or 4 shot you

Realistically, law factions should naturally have stronger tools considering what criminals already have access to. BM items alone already give a big advantage in fights, you’ve got cuff kits which can instantly change situations, VIP packets with instant /bc for quick escapes, cop bat, and on top of that shock guns that can outdo multiple SWAT members tazing. Not to forget taze reflectors as well

So when you look at everything together, criminals already have a very strong set of items to deal with or outplay law factions in most situations despite all of that, if the conclusion is still that "the bomb needs to be nerfed", then it honestly feels more like a skill issue from the criminal side tbh

The current SWAT Shock Bomb nerfs were too heavy and ended up affecting SWAT gameplay more than fixing the actual issue. The real problem was mainly multiple SWAT members repeatedly detonating bombs on the same target in a short time, not the Shock Bomb itself being OP.

Instead of only addressing that specific issue, several nerfs were added at once, including shorter engine off duration, removal of automatic ejection off Vehs, cds and detonation restrictions. These changes made SWAT gameplay harder.

Crimes already have multiple counters available such as jammers, taze reflectors, cop bat and shock resistance, which makes the current nerfs feel excessive.

Rather than keeping the current system, I expect lighter balance, bcs the overall goal is to solve the repeated actions that weak SWAT gameplay too heavily, (Regardless of skill issues).

For almost 5 years playing as SWAT, I can say the latest changes barely change much. I barely even used SSB unless someone was using BMX especially when I was solo and I couldn’t snipe.

I’d say just get used to the new updates instead of whining about them. Try to win even when the odds are against you and things feel unfair that’s what makes it more interesting instead of winning on each situation every single time.

If you can’t handle tough situations alone, call for backup or start learning new mechanics to improve and get yourself to a higher level.

I’ve had the chance to play in the SWAT skin recently, and I agree the gameplay is very difficult, especially when facing a group of cop-hunters. However, buffing the SWAT bomb isn't the only way to fix this.

Over the years, the server, the game mode meta, and the player base have evolved significantly, but I feel SWAT hasn't evolved a single bit. I mean no disrespect to the SWAT leaders, but I feel that SWAT is currently the worst class to play (difficulty-wise) because you are basically a cop who cannot arrest instantly. You need tactical weapons, and sadly, many SWAT members act as if the SWAT bomb is the only weapon they have; since it was nerfed, I can see why people are frustrated.

The issue is that SWAT has several other very OP features, such as the SWAT drone and /smh, but they cannot be used by newer members. I feel the rank restrictions are too strict considering the current number of SWAT members. /smh unlocks at Rank 8 and the SWAT drone unlocks at Rank 10, if I recall correctly. This means a normal member recruited today would need at least 16 months to unlock /smh, assuming they are promoted every single cycle. Consequently, the tactical weapons designed specifically for SWAT are rarely used because people either give up or the few members who have access to these perks no longer play.

What I suggest instead is that SWAT High Command reconsiders the rank restrictions. They should either implement a SWAT score milestone to unlock these perks or make them available at much lower ranks.

I’d also add that swat is basically cop class with extended difficulty which is why it is supposed to be a team game. I feel swat gameplay feels even more difficult because members need to play solo considering it is one of the least populated faction right now. So in theory you rather need more teammates and not a swat bomb buff. I think this issue will be addressed by the L-26 program where we have seen multiple members being able to join the faction.

The argument was never about whether some SWAT members barely used it or only used it against BMX users, it was more about the situations where it could be repeatedly used or stacked. It honestly feels like the main point of the suggestion is being misunderstood rather than addressed directly

To put it simply, SWAT doesn’t really have much to deal with heavily outnumbered situations compared to something like Army. Army has tanks and other things that naturally make criminals back off, but SWAT doesn’t really have anything that stops criminals from constantly rushing them

Most of the time, if criminals see a SWAT member dragging someone, they instantly rush because they know the SWAT member can’t really do much

And regarding the SWAT bomb itself, it should’ve either received a cooldown or a nerf to its effect, not both. Most people had a problem with how often it could be used, not really the bomb itself

This can go both ways for the criminal side as well, but most of the outrage usually still comes from them. At the end of the day SWAT is a LEO faction, so naturally they should have some advantages over criminals, but even then I’m still asking for a reasonable balance in between instead of straight up buffs

My intention was from both sides. For years there have been countless useless topics about nerfing or buffing SWAT, and honestly I’d rather see SSB removed completely just to avoid all this unnecessary drama.

SWAT’s strongest feature has always been teamwork and communication. If your team coordination is on point, you really don’t need anything else.

Let’s stop dragging this argument and just enjoy the game, whether you win or lose. People also need to learn how to lose sometimes, especially when being outnumbered, instead of expecting to win every situation like they’re invincible, nobody is.

If you win every single time, then what’s even the point of playing when you already know the outcome beforehand?

I already made a suggestion about the swat bomb, and its not a nerf or buff just an revamp, you can find it at viewtopic.php?t=129148
The thing is everytime the criminals lose they ask for a nerf or complain about something, they always want to nerf us so they can have a 100% winrate, we're just trying to prevent these nerfs as they've been untouched for years until recently, as Mockery said and I agree with, swat is the faction with the lowest members by far, even with unit l26, and its just a cop class without /ar, and the reason SSB is the biggest topic for swat its cause its the strongest perk by far and all the other perks arent nearly as effective against criminals, If swat had good weapons and they buffed them and actually make them useful we wouldn't complain about the SSB, im talking suggestions like having things like tear gas, something like swat classes where you can pick a class upon spawning in skin, driver class that increases drag range but decreases taze/cuff range, increases driving speed, /swvm is more effective for driver class, lasts longer, activates quicker, shorter cooldown, decreases other things like climbing, shooting etc, gunner class being the members on top, having less drag range and only able to drag 1 suspect a time, increased taze charges, slower driving speed, faster running speed, nerfed /swvm, better drone etc, stealth class that makes /smh last longer and shorter cooldown but nerfs alot of other things, something like having a master class where it wouldnt prioritize your shooting or driving but more for swat weapons, like your animation speed is much quicker, can use /rb faster, increased climbing speed, increased healing speed from injections, ssb effect is longer and less cooldown etc.
This is just a variety of classes that can be added for not only swat but also army, since pagati has it, it adds a specific playstyle for each class and you have to prioritize each class to their designed member that uses it, these classes would have rank requirements, there could be a lot of classes and some better than others requiring a higher rank, members could look forward for ranking up to get a specifc class, instead of rank requirements being removed, they could just make promotions monthly again, again this is just an example for things we could suggest and I'd be down for having them suggested properly on another post.
What I'm tryna say is we shouldnt focus on the SSB and take a look at every swat perk and see how do we make it more useful and creative rather than leaving it untouched for years. (There's still so many bugs for them that need to be patched)
